My introduction to coffee
When I was a child, my parents were big coffee drinkers. They both drank it the same way - straight up. Plain, black, unaltered. My mother is vehement in her dislike of coffee with "stuff" added - it's not true coffee. One taste, when I was small, and I decided I wasn't EVER going to drink such a disgusting beverage.
When I was a teen, my father bought an espresso machine. It was a new appliance, and we were the first ones on our block to have one. My parents had friends on either side of us, and they frequently came over for dinner, or drinks, or just friendship. My dad made the first shots of espresso for everyone, and they raved about the flavor, the taste, the body of the beverage. I took a small sip and gagged. My dad laughed and told me to add some milk and sugar. One shot of espresso, about ten spoons of sugar, and a cup of cream, and YUM! It was delicious.
Now, I drink coffee every single day. It has to be sweet and light. I can't stand black coffee. Daily, I have a white mocha from Starbucks - two shots of espresso, steamed milk and white chocolate syrup. If I'm out to dinner somewhere, I'll have plain coffee, with lots of sugar and cream.
What about you? Black, lightly doctored, or so doctored it's a different beverage?

So doctored it's different. It's such a shame that coffee never tastes as wonderful as it smells. I like a good cappuccino, but that white mocha's sounding pretty darn good! I actually like my regular coffee with lots of sugar, and about half milk or cream (warmed so it doesn't make the coffee cold. The best would be hazelnut coffee fixed this way.

Nonfat lattes from Starbucks. Or just black if brewed coffee.

I've never tasted coffee of any kind. I'm tempted to go to Starbucks and try something, but at this point we can't exactly afford that much for something I might end up throwing away. So, one day...one day I'll go try something there!

I avoid coffee because I already drink at least 3 sodas a day and I don't want anymore caffeine because I'm already addicted to the stuff. If I go long between sodas I get a headache.

my husband drinks it black and laughs at me with my light & sweet.

Black. Or heavily doctored. I love mocha (hot or iced) from Starbucks, Joe Muggs or (best of all!) Caribou. Just no mildly doctored (a splash of milk or cream and a teaspoon of sugar) coffee.

Black for me. Sometimes I'll add a little fake creamer if it's a flavor that strikes my fancy at the moment.

Black. Warm coffee with milk makes me gag. I used to have milk and/or tonnes of sugar but I cut back on the sugar until I said "what's the point?". Though, I do enjoy coffee so heavily doctored/frozen it's ice cream. B&R coffee ice cream blasts or DQ moolattes are a good treat (and they make up for all the unsweetened/unfatted coffee I do drink). :)
Not a big fan of the regular flavoured lattes etc.
