Mom to the Screaming Masses: It's quiet

Well, not exactly. But there is no screaming from big kids, no running in the house and slamming the doors. No name calling, no bullying. The four oldest are at school, ALL DAY LONG. Yesterday was the first day of school, but it was a teaser day. They only went until 12. What a joke.

But, today is good. Until 2:15, when I have to leave, it's just me and the two littles. I have nothing on the schedule today, other than laundry and dishes. I plan to spend some time exercising and writing. I WILL do some of each, every day. Emma is very low maintenance, while Riley isn't, but she will at least take a nap.

I found a new shirt, with tags still on it, in the back of my closet. I ordered books from Amazon, since I had to replace the lost library books - Nikolas checked out books from school over the summer and lost them - and bought a few for myself. The Hubster made dinner last night, and the house is mostly clean. I made three scrapbooks online, so now I don't feel so incredibly behind with my kids photos.

So, for today, life is good.

WANTED, Carmen, mom to the Masses, for dangerous undertakings inside and outside the home. Last seen with her partner The Hubster, and six accomplices (Nikolas, 16, Allegra, 13, Mackenzie 11, Gabriel 8, Emma 6 and Riley, 4). This fugitive is considered armed (with epi pens and inhalers) and dangerous, especially when she hasn't had her morning coffee. She is particularly difficult to recognize due to a recent 80 pound weight loss (size 18-20 down to 2-4!), and has been known to hide beneath large piles of laundry. I don't work on Fridays so I know when this Friday comes and the kids are at school, I'm going to just sit in the peace and quiet, lol. Wishing you a nice and peaceful day.

Enjoy the relative calm of school days! I'm so glad you're continuing to pursue OT for Riley; your letter is an excellent piece of advocacy and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Amazing how quiet your house can be, eh? I just had the eldest home yesterday and today (high school starts tomorrow, thank goodness, although only a 'teaser' day) and having only one was like parenting with my eyes closed.

I love the start of school, don't you? ;-)
