Mission Monday

Well, here it is Monday again.  WHERE did this weekend go?  I did fifty million things, completed almost none of them, and started fun jobs called "yearly taxes" and "financial aid packages" and the ever popular, "clean out the house of all junk" purge.  I grocery shopped, discovered that Gabe needs new school shoes and Nik needs a new dress shirt, and went out to lunch with my mother.  I cleaned my house from top to bottom, did laundry, and blah, blah, blah.  The same stuff that all of us did all weekend, I'm certain.  I was also serveda  fresh side of attitude, hot off the presses, several times by my children.  THAT was undoubtedly the best part of my weekend.  I only wish I knew as much as they do.

But, today is The Hubster's birthday, and we are going to have cake for breakfast, so, all can't be bad, right?  I made him a Pink Panther cake - chosen by Emma - and I think, served with milk, it'll make a fine breakfast.

Today's Mission is easy.  (I KNOW - I can hear your sighs of relief all the way over here - I've really given you all some hard ones, eh?)

Today do something nice for yourself.  Take a chunk of time and spend it all on you.  Or spend your chunk of time doing something nice for someone else, someone that you think really deserves it.

What will you do with your time?  I'd really like a nap, I think.

Oh, and to spend time reading the next Evanovich book.  I'm seriously addicted to these!

I have never before participated in Mission Monday. In fact, as soon as I read the title I moan and groan (much like my 6 year old when told to clean his room) BUT I will be completing this one. Cuz I'm lazy like that.

Happy Birthday to your husband! And, I think cake for breakfast sounds pretty good!

I love her books. I will have to look for the new one. Have a great Monday!

I hate assignments, but I sure could use a massage....

What size do Nik & Gabe wear? I still owe you a look thru My Kid's gently worn outgrown clothes.

my mom has the kids for the day (ok, it's so I can go to a couple of appointments. Maybe I'll eat lunch OUT! or go to the library ALONE! wow, what a great mission!

I love the Evanovich books too, I love books that make me laugh.

I spend too much time each day reading great blogs, message boards, and chatting! This is 'my time' and our school day doesn't start until I've had my fill. :)

I'm having a lunch date for some of my friends. Fixing soup and bread and salad and baked apples (I'm trying to be good on the eating thing) and trying to climb out of my social hole after the holiday season. Wanna come?

:)

OK, I'm going to put my own twist on this one and make my husband do something nice for me instead. After all, I could use a massage. I hope I manage to convince him that you said he had to do it. If he reads your real mission, I'm done for.

Happy Birthday to your husband! Cake for breakfast sounds great to me.
As for the Evanovich books, you know she has a website, right? www.evanovich.com

My 14 year old has an appointment to have fillings today. The little weirdo loves the feeling of - get this - the Novacaine. I have a strange crew. I'm thinking today is a great day to go to hubby's work, an move his car. he works at a factory, thus, 100's of cars. So he'll come out, walking to where his car is parked, and it's not there. He'll stop, look around, "hmm, where did I park the car?" He'll be standing there looking around, then he'll remember ME! Because every so often I play this little trick on him. Sometimes I'm in the parking lot, van full of kids, laughing our heads off, literally, as we watch. We lead such exciting lives don't we. So he'll take out his cell and call me. "ok, where's my car?"

Thankfully, he won't be mad, he has a great sense of humor. Yep, that's my mission today. Numb the kid and go move hubby's car. Fun fun fun

Happy Birthday!! And cake for breakfast sounds wonderful :)

ahhh I think that bubble bath that I have been craving is in order for this Mission Monday! While I soak I will try not to feel guilty about the ceiling fan in the kitchen I never got to for mission Monday a few weeks ago! Ahh well!

This will be the first Mission Monday I've participated in. I decided this morning that the laundry can wait. I'm going to read my blogs and then read my book while my daughter naps. So far, I am really enjoying it! :)

Oh and, yeah, the Evanovich books? Seriously addicting. Sorry about that. Fortunately (or unfortunately) they are a pretty easy read, so they go quick. I usually polish one off in a day or two.

Your husband shares a birthday with my son, who turns seven today. I'll be taking him out to a movie tonight to celebrate. Unfortanely, the most I can do to participate in this mission is being online for a little while. My husband's grandma passed last night, so we have funeral arrangements and birthday stuff all at once. I have to figure out what to do with two VERY large dogs (one is half wolf) and a cat while we drive from Nevada to California to pick up hubs from work, and then to Colorado to the funeral-with three kids! Aaaaaack!

Hm, Hm, Hm - when this mission seems hard, you know you have to make some changes! OK, I work full time and had to do the sneaky thing and arrange to shift hours today so that I could interview for a different job. I got a call this afternoon to please come back and make a presentation to the team I'd work with in the morning - but luckily, due to a later morning dental appointment, already had the day off and don't have to try to explain that one to the current employer. I was going to prep all evening, but instead, I think I will play with the kids until bedtime, work on the presentation for one hour only after they go to bed, and then a bubble bath.

Hey, your husband and I share a birthday!
