I know, I know, I'm supposed to do the Great Book Edition. But I just needed to talk about this for a minute.
I went to get the mail a few days ago and saw an envelope addressed to my family. It had a typed label and the return was from a local dinner and a movie place. Inside the envelope was a gift card. There was nothing written on it, no receipt - nothing. There was no way to know what amount, if any, was loaded onto the card.
Yesterday I went to the movie theater to see if they could tell me something about it. They swiped the card to check the balance.
Dude. The card was loaded with...
I know, you hate the "Click below" feature, but this was something I couldn't resist.
One HUNDRED dollars.
I asked if they could trace the sale, and the manager said he'd look into it, but made no promises.
WHO sent my family a $100 gift card to dinner and a movie?

Now that is one superior secret santa!
Cheers

It wasn't me, but I'm glad someone did! I can't think of a more deserving family.

That's awesome ... but I want to give just a little advice here. Once when we were going through a really, really tough time we got gift certificates to a local gas station - anonymously. But I couldn't take not knowing who did it. After questiong the cashier I found out who it was. And then the person who gave the certificate found out who I was. It hurt them because they wanted to do this anonymously ... so, don't find out who it is. Let it be what the person wants it to be ... an anonymous blessing. The not-knowing is tough, but it's just better that way.

That is awesome!!! Merry Christmas..one time when I was a teenager our car had to go to the shop for some major work... we couldn't afford a new car but we couldn't really afford the work either... my mom (a single mom at that) didn't tell anyone the cost or even that are car was in the shop really.... when we went to pick it up a few days later she went to pay and the shop owner said that someone had been in and paid for the work...she tired to find out who and assumed that the shop paid it... but they said that it was someone else not them but they were not at liberty to say who!!! It was amazing....
Enjoy your movie and dinner....and have a blessed Christmas!! xo Lyns

That is super. And I agree with Diane P - just appreciate the kindness. You certainly do enough for others - it's just karma.

The Bible says that the things we do in private, He will reward us openly. Accept the gift and enjoy a night with your family, you do nice things for others and now it's your turn for a blessing. Have a Merry Christmas!

WOW! What a blessing! I am getting goosebumps on your behalf! My husband and I always say "Thanks, God!" when stuff like that happens, it's even inscribed on our wedding rings. So, Thanks, God! : )
PS: Sorry for the late comment - I am WAAAAY behind on my reading. Life is kicking my booty recently.

How awesome. And I agree with the others above, just enjoy it and pay it forward when you can - take it is as a gift from God, working through one of His angels.
