The Results of the Great Snow Storm of '08

There was a storm coming.  A HUGE, massive storm, forecast to give us up to - and possibly beyond - 8 inches of snow.

Remember the scene at the tail end of The Wizard of Oz, where it is discovered that the Great and Powerful Oz is not all that, but a big fraud?  Yeah, I can relate.

Behold, the snow.

The smallest snowman ever.  004

In order to get this full bowl of snow, she had to scrap the front and top of the Jeep.  My poor child.

Go ahead and laugh.  This storm was SERIOUS.

Awww, but I bet the kids enjoyed it anyway. *g* We did get some snow the other day and it lasted for a whole day and a half. We were forecast to get some more this past friday and what did we get? Rain. *G* I think your smallest snowman is cute. *g*

Seriously... how much does that annoy you!?!

I get highly annoyed when the weatherperson suggests we might even get "1-2 inches" of snow (which would be a big deal here). It's like ya know what, just say ZERO to two inches so that when I wake up and there's nary a snowflake on the ground I won't feel the need to go down to the station and kick some weatherman booty!

That is one diligent and determined little girl, that was a LOT of effort to make that tiny little snow man!

*snort*

Kinda like the Millennium bug hey?

Hey, when you're a kid and you've waited all year for a snow day, you'll take whatever amount of snow you can get and figure out a way to make a snowman!!! I probably built more snowmen such as this one, than the kind that look like typical snowmen.

My favorite snowman looks a lot like this one. It was one my daughter and nephew built right outside the window Dad sat next to when he was sick and they wanted him to be able to look outside and see it.

Memphis would totally close schools for that much snow.

Hey, when you don't get much, snow is snow. I hope they had fun.

I am actually envious. This weekend we had -60 windchills. Cars and trucks had to be plugged in or in a heated garage if you wanted them to start. If you went outside you needed to have every body part covered to avoid frost bite. We have about a foot of snow on the ground which is brown from mud and dirt. I hate the cold. I am definately living in the wrong state.

I know. All that hype for nothing. We got enough to cover the grass and then POOF! it was gone! My kids are mad and my daughter actually asked if we could move someplace that it snows :)

what a great mini snowman!

Ha ha ha ha - this totally cracked me up. The snow here forces our new puppy to walk on her front legs, butt in the air - I swear she is a cat. Your kids musta had so much fun - for like 4 seconds!

LOL, I did have to laugh at this. It's just to funny. Every year, we are told we are going to get massive amounts of snow. 99% of the time it doesn't happen. To funny:-)
