Off to the stores - multiple
Because, um, who's bright idea was it that Easter is in two days? Isn't it, like, a month away?
The Easter Bunny is not prepared AT ALL in our house. AT ALL.
And two of my kids have decided that EB is bringing Wii games. Since when did Easter resemble Christmas and birthdays in terms of gifts?
And, um, what about the two dozen people coming over on Sunday? Do you think they'd mind a generous buffet spread of apple slices, mayonnaise, shredded cheese and pickles? Because that's what we have right now. Oh, and four gallons of milk. But no eggs - I just scrambled 18 eggs for lunch and we are out again. Gah - all everyone in this house wants to do is eat.
So, Target. Grocery Store. Ham store. Shoe store. Anywhere else?
Oh, right. Church yesterday, today, tomorrow and Sunday. Last night, though, was the best service EVAH, when my four year old yanked off her pink cowboy boots, growled, "I don't like that man!" and tossed her boot in the direction of the priest - and, yes, we were sitting in the front row. I'm just glad she can't throw farther than about 4 feet - that was humiliating enough.
Good times, y'all, good times indeed.

Your Daughter is cute!
As for Easter, don't feel bad. I'm not ready either. GAH! And Easter is the day after tomorrow. It just doesn't seem right to have Easter in March.

Oh my - that's a good one! Sounds like something my kids would do to humiliate me.
I just picked my boys up from their *very* Catholic grandma's house who told me in utter disbelief that my 7 year old didn't know that we don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent. Woops.
Yeah, I can't believe Easter is so early. My kids will need their parkas for the egg hunt in our backyard.

It's a shame I didn't catch you earlier - do you have a Trader Joe's near you? You could kill a lot of birds with one stone there - I bought one of their hams for Sunday, so that would get rid of at least one stop for you. Hope the errands weren't so bad.
I cannot STAND Easter being so early. Spring(NOT) Break started today and the only good thing about it is that I got to sleep in until 10. Then I got to come down and see the destruction that was left as a result of me doing so.

I actually ordered meat from Omaha steaks last month with a $20 coupon and got a free ham. Dh had today because I guess the Danish are very Catholic because they NEVER give them a day off. He was able to get all the stuff for side dishes today. Though it was pointed out rather bluntly that he didn't get the stuff our annual Easter breakfast Bundt cake. I did the basket stuff last weekend though I do have to remember to pull something out of inventory from our new location for Miss Tessie. Otherwise we're good. I hope. I hate that my kids too think it's all a free for all and they need gifts too. dang it! Oh and to top it off one of my friends had us over 3 years ago for a very Martha Easter and I just can't live up to it nor will I try. My 14 yo had dreams last week that she came back to town for Easter...goes to show the memories that went with that one.

Rats got into the baskets last year and so I had to throw them away. I just realized about 3 days ago that I have to get new ones. I am protesting and getting VERY.SMALL.ONES so I don't have much to fill. 1-2 pcs of candy, maybe a book? and be done.
We don't know what we are eating today, much less on Sunday. But then again we won't have a crowd.
Happy Resurrection Day!

We never got presents for Easter. If we happened to go to an egg hunt, then we got that, but otherwise no baskets or such. And we never felt deprived. We were at church for sunrise service (somehow we were always supplying special music, and one time I even did an interpretive dance - yikes!) and then went to other services, but my favorite Easter was the one when we made hot cross buns. How do you do the baskets anyways? Do you hide the whole basket in the backyard or is there a presentation involved?

Once my kids were older (15 or so) I thought I was finally done with Easter baskets but no, they told me how they look forward to getting something. So here I am with a 17-year-old and a 21-year-old buying them each a DVD and some candy. Sounds ridiculous as I type this but they know how to work me.

The EB is bringing my girls some new shampoo and bubblebath. Because we're out. :)

If it's any consolation, I think I read somewhere that Easter won't be this early on the calendar for another 200 something years. Next year it's April 12th and April 4th in 2010. (you know--so you can start planning now:) )

It is all very confusing!
Happy Easter!

Yes 228yrs and until easter will ever be this early again. It's about 3feet of snow out my door, I would have liked if mr E Bunny had brought me a HUGE yard size heater but instead he brought me chocolate Oh henry eggs to fatten me up and insulate me until Spring actually happens.
Happy Easter!

I KNEW Easter was supposed to be in April! Having it be in March just throws me all off.
Sent you an Easter e-card :)

When our bishop visited, and was processing around the church during the service, one of the preschoolers decided to chuck his Hot Wheels RIGHT THEN. It sailed over the bishop's head, with not too much distance to spare.
That story will probably be told at his wedding someday...
