Whatcha doin'?
Quick - tell me a few things you are doing right now.
I am:
- Listening to my kids play outside
- Listening to the toilet run upstairs
- Wondering if I want to replace the flapper, or wait for The Hubster to do it
- Thinking about the two baby gifts I need to order
- Happy it is 70 degrees
- Looking at a pile of laundry
- Debating if I want to go to Stride Rite and buy two of my girls some really cute shoes
- Wondering if anyone will eat the salmon patties I have planned for dinner
- Thinking, why oh why does spring break end in two days?
- Eating vanilla yogurt mixed with dried cherries and red and gold raisins - as well as a small handful of dark chocolate chips
- Realizing that the alligator skin on my legs means I need moisturizer and need it ASAP
- Thinking I should get a haircut before I go to the Johnson and Johnson's Baby Camp next week
Your turn. Nothing spectacular - just whatever you are doing on this Friday afternoon (or night, or Saturday, whenever you are reading).

I am:
Listening to the washer spin the darks load.
Listening for the dryer, signaling the towels are done.
Listening to my Son take his 3rd Quarter tests.
Wondering when I'm going to find the time to go to the library, vacumm, fold all the laundry and find time to work out before making dinner.

I am:
Watching my daughter nap on the baby monitor.
Plotting out the 3rd "Feeling Raw Because of Facebook" story I want to write.
Waiting for a hockey game to start.

...wishing it were 5 o'clock and trying to figure out how I'm going to fill up my client billing considering I have done absolutely no work so far this afternoon...

Trying to nurse Sam to sleep. Unsuccessfully.
Listening to his sing-along cartoons, which I neglected to turn off. (That could be contributing to the first item.)
Listening to outside sounds including helicopters and birds.
Wishing the coffee pot wasn't allllll the way downstairs.
Mentally organizing my writing projects for the weekend and making a shopping list.

I am:
Listening to 2 co-workers talk on the phone very loudly.
Reading my many blogs on my feed reader
Posted by:Southernbelle | March 28, 2008 at 04:15 PM
Oh, and! Catching up on email. Expect one from me shortly!
Posted by:Annika | March 28, 2008 at 04:15 PM
Debating what to eat for dinner since I am without DH and DS tonight. Popcorn? Chocolate cake? Nothing?
Waiting till 5pm so I can sneak to the craft store after work (since nobody is expecting me home).
Trying to keep awake since I have been up since 4:15am to bring the boys to the airport.
Thinking of what to pack for my trip tomorrow.

Waiting to fold a load of towels.
Hoping my nails will be dry by then.
Mentally finishing an article for a friend.
Mentally finishing the blog post I started this morning that almost got lost due to my silly browser.
Reading from my feed reader instead.

I am:
Taking a break from spring cleaning my son's room. The tears just get to be too much...and those are from him, not me!
Listening to my kids' pretend play. When do they outgrow their imagination because I don't ever want it to stop.
Wanting another Diet Pepsi, even though I should have some more water.
Wondering what to do with the pork chops I defrosted for dinner.
Have a great weekend, Carmen!

I
-just put my younger kid to bed. He fell asleep on the sofa due to no nap this afternoon.
- am listening to the sound of the dishwasher
- am lurking a bit around some blogs while my husband sits with the two older kids (but not old enough to do it on their own ;))watching some Bond movie.
- am mentally counting the pages still to translate on my current translation job.
- am thinking about how exactly three years ago I was one day away from becoming a mother of three.

I am listening to...
-the baby waking up from her nap.
-DH, on the computer.
-The oldest, discussing a book with DH.
I am eating a small Panera sandwich, I gave my tiny bag of chips away. I'm drinking water, too!
I'm thinking, those carnival shoes are adorable!

When you say salmon patties are you talking about the frozen ones from TJ's, if so everyone will eat them if you grill them and serve them on a nice thick slice of sourdough lightly brushed with olive oil and rubbed with garlic and also grille and then topped with a nice spoonful of yummy homemae chunky guacomole -YUM. Now I am hugry.

I am:
-Wondering if I need to make an emergency after-hours weekend call to some kind of plumber since the pump on my well seems to be leaking - but water pressure in the house seems okay.
-Quietly damning my ex-husband because I have to try and figure this out on my own - and have to pay for it.
-frittering away way too much time on the computer when I should be doing any number of things on my "to do" list
-trying not to worry about DS who has just departed for Florida - Senior year - Spring Break
-wondering what book I should read next having just finished re-reading the Outlander series from start to finish (whew - but it was worth it) followed by a quick run through The Time Traveler's Wife.
-wishing I could get motivated and not feel so overwhelmed by all I could;/should be doing.
-looking forward and at the same time dreading next week when both DS and DD will be away and I'll be left at home doing the same old thing
-secretly wondering why this all sounds so depressing - because it's really not. With the exception of the plumbing problem and wondering if I'll be able to any laundry this weekend - it's really okay - plus, I just got an unexpected and wonderfully generous raise from my really wacky boss. So, actually, things are really looking up!!

I am:
taking a break after putting my daughter to bed and cleaning up the kitchen
running the washer and the dishwasher
nursing a swollen ankle
drinking a glass of Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel to comfort my swollen ankle
contemplating buying new running shoes to prevent another swollen ankle
admiring the cute Stride Rite sandals and wondering if my darling girl would wear them.
procrastinating packing I need to do for a trip tomorrow

-listening to the dishwasher
-watching Mr 18 run in and out of his room as he "cleans" it; I know he must be planning to ask for something
-watching and listening to Hubby trying to wash his coverall in the new washing machine, and I find his conversation with the washing machine very interesting
-listening to the heavy sighs of Miss 14 as she waits for Hubby to drive her to pick up a friend. It's been 3 minutes and he is apparently soooooo sloooowwwwww
-swallowing and plugging my ears at the same time every time I swallow; darn sinus cold
-waiting so very, very patiently for 9:30 so I can have a rum/coke... heh! It's friday!
I get to have one on Fridays...
Posted by:Mama Bear | March 28, 2008 at 08:28 PM
* paying bills on-line
* entering codes for My Coke Rewards
* realizing Friday afternoon is my favorite part of the week
* listening to "The O'Reilly Factor"
* shoo-ing my daughter away from reading over my shoulder
* regretting all of those "Robin's Eggs"

Just finishing up the vacuuming. Dreading doing the dishes. Being nudged incessantly by one cat and ignored by the other. Wondering why it's so hot in here when the heat hasn't come on in several days. Wondering why my place is never really clean no matter how much time I seem to spend on it, and if I'm ever going to be able to get all the cat hair off the couch.

It's Friday night and your mom and I just finished uploading tons of pictures to the computer and wanted to check out your blog. Marty and Heather have both fallen asleep on us. We're kinda boring tonight after our exciting day.

I am happy to find a new friend whom I will get to meet in a few days!
I am playing with my new laptop.
I am trying not to fall asleep, and hoping that I don't get sick.
I am worrying about my twins, who are trying to fall asleep (they both have pneumonia!).
I am listening to an old Dr. Seuss video that my hubby and daughter are watching.
I am wishing I could go to bed!

I am sipping my AM coffee, enjoying your blogs as I get ready for my 8 mile run.
I am super nervous about doing 8 miles all at once.
I am hoping it isn't raining (but its Oregon, so it probably is raining!).

Trying to ignore my dh cutting his toenails on the couch. How freaking gross..why this isn't being done in the bathroom is beyond me.
Listening to the never ending drone of electric pencil sharpener in other end of the house. They can't be doing homework since it's Saturday can they?
Being blinded by the glare of fresh snow and bright sun out of windows.
Trying to figure out what me and kids will/can do for fun for the next week while hubster is traveling and not being a wet blanket at home :)

I am:
-knowing I should hop in the shower
-knowing I should take my blood pressure meds
-fuming at my husband because, in his distraction over church business, he almost fed our severely peanut allergic daughter breakfast on a plate that had previously held her brother's PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH
-so totally ready for spring "break" to be over
-wearing fuzzy blue pajamas with stars on them
-wishing I hadn't left my coffee downstairs
