Home again, whee!
So, we went on a trip. And, Holy BatCats, was it fun.
We stayed at the Venetian Hotel the first night, and then traveled 20 miles out of town to stay at Lake Las Vegas Lowe's resort. From the canal inside, filled with gondolas, to the exclusive boutiques and insanely cool statues and elaborate architecture, The Venetian felt as if we'd stepped into Europe.
We ate far too much, drank far too much, slept not nearly enough and just enjoyed the heck out of each others company. Here are the remains of the best damned pasta dish I've EVER eaten in my life - Boursin Pasta. Yes, it was creamy and fattening and full of junk - I ate it every single day for lunch.
Yeah, I'm that obnoxious blogger who takes pictures of her food. What of it?
We strolled the strip, where I tried on hats and wrap dresses. I almost bought a shamrock inside an Irish cross - I wish I had. I visited Sephora and bought new makeup, bought sandals and a GREAT t-shirt for a gift. We lost money in the slots and on the blackjack table and realized that unlike life, we are not lucky in gambling.
We saw the Blue Man Group, which rocked on so many levels that I can't even explain it. If you like, watch the video of the Rods and Cones section.
We saw many of the great hotels on the strip, watched the water show at the Bellagio, went up in the Eiffel Tower, went swimming and drank by the pool. I watched the Iron Girl Triathalon - now, that was amazing.
All in all, I think it was a great trip.

My husband and I were there in Febuary for the George Strait concert. We had a lot of fun! I think I had the nicest time at Venecian. It's so beautiful in there. We had lunch right against the water. We ate Mexican food, but in a place like that you would think it would be Italian food!
Your trip sounds like a blast!

I was at Lowe's about 3 weeks ago. What did you think of the place? I LOVED my time at the pool -- though, I had the boy with me.
We had a blast and I'm glad you did too.
Welcome Home.

The Little Chapel of the West.
My wife and I may or may not have eloped there 2 months before our "real" wedding.
We may or may not have decided 8 hours earlier that we were going.
I may or may not have called my boss to say "I won't be in for my shift in 20 minutes."

I LOVE LOVE LOVE VEgas, have been every year for the past 5 years? With girlfriends and also with DH. Cheap vacation baby!! I have stayed many places but Treasure Island was the nicest. I LOVE Downtown and plan to stay there next, very cool. We have seen 3 of the Cirque Du Soliel shows and LOVED them! We also went on a tour bus (where we were the youngest passengers, score!) to the Hoover dam, which was way cool. Best meal I ever ate was in the Stratosphere top of the world restaurant (which yes, revolves) and mmmmm it was wonderful.
Glad you had a good time! Vegas, fun city!

You look great. Love your haircut. I LOVE the ventian, but my favorite was just walking thru caesar's.. I was there when my husband had a conference, so during the day, I'd get a coffee, find a bench & just people watch. It was so fun!

Carmen, I know I don't comment very often but, that last picture of you is awesome. You look so beautiful, vibrant and happy. It's a keeper.

I was just in Vegas a few weeks ago. I LOVE Caesar's Palace, but also Mandalay Bay. We had the best breakfast at MB. Dinner at Olives at Bellagio was the BEST, but we also ate at Nob Hill at MGM, which was delicious. I had the greatest cheese fondue there! We saw Elton John's Red Piano show - fantastic :) I love just walking the strip and seeing all the sights. But I always return to Caesar's Palace because it's nice, and I'm lucky there...
Glad you had a great time! Welcome back to reality!

I'm still trying to get over how fabulous you look. Seriously. How long ago was that photo of you & your husband on the beach? Was it last summer? I'm tellin you girl: YOU LOOK 15 YEARS YOUNGER.

I love love love Vegas. So much to do so much to see. My favorite hotel is the Rio. It is so much fun and so lively. The best view of the strip would have to be Strastphere. Glad you had a good time.

My favourite Vegas place are the Bellagio fountains. When I was there in.....ages ago anyway.... they "danced" along to Lionel Ritchie, "All Night Long" and whenever I hear that song I see those fountains. But honestly, I just love Vegas and can't wait to go back. Especially now I am old enough to actually do a little gambling!

OK, haven't been to Vegas in almost 15 years, but did spend time this fall in Venice, Italy. The Vegas Venice looks way nicer than the real city - very run down and in need of major reconstruction. It also rained every daya when we were there so the Vegas Venice weather is also nicer I'm sure.

The hotels were amazing. I loved the Bellagio and the chocolate fountain inside. I little bit of Willy Wonka right there. We stayed at Bally's which was sort of dated but once your head hits the pillow who cares.
I think we hit Sephora twice (man I love that place!) Whatcha buy?
For shows we saw the cirque show Love. Absolutely freakin amazing

Actually go to Venice, and then tell me that this is like really being in Europe. The Venice is like nowhere on earth, especially Vegas.
