- They were the cheapest shoes offered - they were half of the price on the tag
- Actual words from him mouth - "My mother always said to buy shoes you can grow into."
- Actual other words he said, "But they were so cheap!"

Wow, those are really terrible. Can't you do anything about this :)

I must say, I dearly wished for a pair of shoes like this last year when I broke two bones in one wrist and was in a cast and sling for ages. I couldn't tie anything with one hand; I ended up wearing clogs in rain and snow.

That is TOTALLY cracking me up.... Maybe they can "get lost" or you can have a teething puppy "come visit" or you can return them? I see the tag is still on!

Too hilarious! They ARE ugly, but my hub would find they are to costly - heh, go figure them out...MEN! :D

He does realize that at 54 you're basically done with the whole growth thing, right?
Oh those shoes are awful.

The story of the "shoes" really made my day, but the picture is priceless! My Gramps has these in stylish black, and yes, he is 94.

aren't they womens? and if they were black maybe just maybe you could camouflage those velcros but no not in white. Maybe he's using them for mowing the yard?

LOL!!!!!
I hope you'll wear something uber chic when he wears these so no one will notice.
Of course, they will probably talk about how you spend all the money and he's forced to wear those Bargain Hut overgrown kindergarten shoes ... hee hee

Oh. My.
My husband's ugliest shoes left our home 17 years ago and he still grumbles about it! They were supposed to be dress shoes of some sort and he loaned them to a younger cousin of his for a school dance. Of course I'm to blame that they never came home because we moved and I never reminded him he didn't get his shoes back. I HATED those shoes! To this day I worry he will come home with another pair of them. He LIKED them! blech!

BAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. But seriously, I am crying for you inside. Maybe you should get him some lovely depends and some of those diabetic stockings to match those shoes. And one of those seats for the shower. Seriously, maybe you need to remind him that he's not over the hill...yet.
I'm still laughing. Mostly because my mom has shoes just like that/

Oh Good Lord! Do you only look at him from the neck up?

Those are AWESOME! My grandfather had similar ones.

Too funny, they look like something Kate's GREAT grandpa, age 90, would wear. Her Papa age 70 is too fashion forward to these shoes.

I am pretty sure I saw Bob Barker wearing a pair of those last week!!!

It's an epidemic!! I was standing in the check out line at the library yesterday and happened to glance down and lo and behold there were THOSE shoes right in front of me! On a man that didn't look much older than 54 either. It was really hard not to laugh out loud!
