I was reading over at Motherbl*gger and she had an awesome post about things that she no longer needs to purchase. As in, she has enough to last her until the end of time or the apocalypse - whichever comes first. With a list comprised of things like applesauce and black beans, I didn't think that we had too much in common. After all, as my children will gladly attest, there is NEVER enough food in the house.
But.
There ARE some certain things on her list that I agreed with, and I decided to start my own. Many of mine can be found on hers, and I'm curious to know if they overlap with yours as well. What from my list could be found on yours, and what would you add or subtract?
- Cloth grocery store shopping bags - I think I'm going to "wrap" Christmas presents in the unused ones this year. We have approximately eleventy bajillion of these things.
- Corporate coffee mugs - I do drink a lot of coffee, but I really prefer to use my own mugs with my own messages and I have a few favorites. The Bank of America or Amway mug, um, not so much. At least once a year I clean this cabinet out and get rid of mugs, which makes me hubby c to the r crazy.
- No kids sweaters or jackets for the under size 12 set - winter coats, yes, sweaters are going to drown us
- underpants that give any of us a wedgie - I have been tossing them out but they keep multiplying
- cookie cutters
- cloth napkins - the only person who EVER uses these is my father in law when he eats over and I think we have about 2 dozen
- play weapons
- legos
- barbies - and this is coming from a person who HATES barbies and never wanted her girls to play with them
- tennis rackets
- basketballs
- bars of soap - thanks to all the travel we've done in the last year, we have so many mini bars that we can be clean for 20 years
- little kid cups
Things we cannot have enough of, ever, and must buy as often as possible:
- frozen waffles
- frozen hot pockets
- cereal
- Pampered Chef baking stones - my kids drop them amazingly often
- coffee
- hair clippies and ponytail holders
- straws
- vodka
- books

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I NEVER have enough vodka. Luckily, where I live now alcohol is sold on Sunday's, until 10 p.m. and even at places such as WALMART (Iknow, strange)and just about every gas station.
Some things I have more than enough of: Boys clothes, from newborn to 5t in all seasons, shoes, towels, blankets, Advil, shampoo, Socks, and binky's. I'm also with you on the cloth bags. I gave my kids their x-mas presents in them last year. They dumped all of the toys out and put the bags on their heads.
Thisgs I always run out of at the most inconvenient time: BABY FORMULA DAMN IT. The child drinks 50 bucks worth a week because I can't feed him anything.
And: Red Bull, tampons, mac and cheese, sanity, water (I'm sorry environment. I recycle!)DIAPERS, and uh...valium. Which has been in short supply.

Oh, that is a really great post. I enjoyed reading it and I agree. I won't do a list but I know that mine would have make-up and lotions on it!

Really? Can I have/buy your cookie cutters then? I have two of them....Have NO idea where the rest of them are. It seems, like socks, we've lost them in a move somewhere.

Things we do not need to buy: travel mugs. We seem to have a billion of them with every corporate name known to man.
Things we never have enough of: with three kids we are always buying milk and cereal and cheese slices. If there is less than 2 litres of milk in the fridge it is a crisis in our house.

We used to have a little local breakfast place that had all mismatched mugs, and I took shopping bags FULL to them. Unfortunately they closed due to the economy. Sniff. But I was so stoked when I came up with that idea.

About the only thing on the DO Not Need list were the travel mugs. Hubs brings at least three home a year. Corporate t-shirts, too. Ugh.
And I agree, one of the things I will NEVER have enough of? BOOKS. *G*

corporate bags- the kind you get all the swag in at conferences. the worst part- Hubby won't give away any of them!

Ha, ha! Yes, coffee mugs for me, too. My husband and I don't even drink coffee! They're just there for company and our once a year cup of hot chocolate. People are always giving them away or putting them in gift baskets. They completely take over the cabinets.

You need to file your paperwork for the pampered chef stones. If you've got your original pink copy they'll replace the broken stone. Just need to ship back a piece of stone and the paperwork. Free full size intact stone will come back to you :)

Ha! I have a few things in common with you on my list, however on mine vodka is the first item!

Bags/packpacks that you get from conventions. I need to purge these. I have two coffee cups that I love, the rest I need to dump.
I can never have enough
coffee
vodka
books
yarn
bread
hot pockets (ham and cheese!)

I have a box of cookie cutters that were my great grandmothers. Those things I will never get rid of.
Hair things, yes. I buy them every time I go anywhere and we can never find any. Also underwear. We buy more underwear than anyone I know. I have no idea where they all go.
