Did you see Scrutiny lately, where I discuss Sara Lee, Hexbug and Power Rangers?
It suddenly occurred to me, last night, that I haven't written on this site for a couple of days. What have I been doing? Geez, what have I NOT been doing?
I spent Friday in my pajamas, sitting in bed with my coffee, and bought about half of my Christmas presents online. That's my most favorite way to shop. Friday afternoon I was part of the opening night at Busch Gardens: A Christmas Town, invited on a media pass, and my husband and I took some time alone and had a DATE. I know. Shocking to us, too.
I have no idea WHAT I did on Saturday. Seriously. I have just spent five minutes trying to remember exactly what we did - but I'm certain that it involved - oh, wait - I just checked twitter. I went to Target on Saturday. That's right. I bought my girls some church clothes, some new underpants and socks. See, I'm trying to break them of the HABIT that they have of wearing white athletic socks with dark pants and dark shoes for church. Silly, silly me. In exchange for allowing me the privilege of purchasing all of this for them, I offered to buy drinks at Starbucks.
Right after I took this picture, Emma dumped my entire HOT coffee all over my lap. That's pretty much the way my life has been going, lately. At least I was wearing black jeans. Then I took the kids to the Town Center Illumination, so that they could watch my mom walk in a parade. As many times as my mom has watched me in parades and shows, it was cool to see my kids get excited over seeing their Nana. Later that night, we went to a party. A GROWN UP party. And I learned that, sometimes, it's fun to be the sober one - people can be really, REALLY funny.
Sunday consisted of church, Christmas illumination at another location, listening to my daughter sing with the choir, and setting my Christmas trees in my kids rooms. Well, every room except for the kids that deem themselves too old to have trees in their rooms.
Now it's Monday and I'm paying bills, writing reviews, shopping some more, making lists, paying bills, ironing, running, and not forgetting to download White Christmas - I heard it on the radio this morning and realized how much I liked it.
So, to sum up - shopping, media trip, shopping, Target, Starbucks, Whoops!, parade, party, church, Christmas lights, lalala, and decorating. I was exceptionally delighted to send the kids back to school today, I can say that.
What's new with you?

I'm glad that your absence was just the holiday/family/normal variety! Sounds like fun!

Same kind o stuff really. Dpo you have any gift ideas for inlaws, grandparents, other assorted adults who really need /want for nothing yet we r obligated to give them SOMETHING for Christmas. I love my kids- they make a list tell me what they want & give examples. I need more of this type of feedback in my life. However I have vowed to make this a less stressful holiday so if I don't have a gift epiphany anytime soon they r all getting starbucks cards.

Oh I was HOPING you'd get to go to Bush Gardens for the Christmas thingy! I'm really interested in your thoughts & appropriateness for 12,6 & 3 yr olds!

See, you were doing interesting and productive things, while I was checking all of my favorite bloggers several times a day ... good for you! I loved your post about Thanksgiving. It was my first one not-working-outside-the-home in a while, and I was much, much more thankful for the time and my family. And, was it just me? I think not. Everyone else in my family had a calmer and better holiday, too. We even saw a play, visited with friends, and played games around the dining room table more than once.

I'm also interested in your thoughts on Christmas Town. Tickets are kind of pricey for just a few rides. Is the decorating that wonderful? How about the shows? I'm not sure it's worth it to walk around and be tempted by lots of unhealthy (and expensive!)things to eat, crowds to catch germs from, etc. And parking is extra.

Hmmmm... Let's see... I spent the last five days at a resort about 90 minutes south of here. We ate. We slept. We swam. We shopped. We ate some more. And we went to the spa for massage. Oh, and a deer chased my dog and I yesterday morning when I took her out to do her business. The deer had baby antlers so I think I could have taken her if it came down to that...
Now, I'm recovering. I did hit Costco this morning, but have no energy left to do the rest of my errands. I also have half my Christmas tree in my living room and half in the basement. Eventually I might get around to at least getting it all in one room, but probably not anytime soon.

I miss having a tree in my room! I'm pretty sure I had one in my room until I was in college and my mom thought I was too old for it.
When I move into a bigger apt. or into a house, I will have a tree in my room!

I've been on Facebook. And aside from that...uhhh.....I know I did something productive. Hmmm. Oh, right. I cooked spaghetti and changed diapers. And at some point I took a shower. Why do I even comment? I'm so boring.
