Ok, so now I have about, hmm, 24 hours to get it all done. I have to make cookies, low fat chocolate cheesecake, mexican dip, a whole hot mess of side dishes for two separate meals. I have loads of folded laundry to put away, carpets to vacuum, and a teeny tiny little thing called -
I still need to buy TWO gifts and I have wrapped NOTHING.
Make me feel better. What do you still need to do?
(My apologies if you do not celebrate Christmas . I'll be back to normal insanity very soon, I pinky promise.)

I just finished wrapping/buying...the latest I've ever been!
Hope you get lots done soon!

I still have to sew together Sam's entire present. And the house is a sty. And I need to make pizza, but that one is tempered by the fact that then I get to EAT pizza. (I also need to make biscuits but not until Christmas morning.) Oh, and after Sam goes to bed tomorrow I have to make Christmas appear.
Really, I guess I don't have that much to do. But it feels like a LOT at 38 weeks pregnant.
(I also need to NOT HAVE THE BABY YET.)

hmmmm While in town this a.m. for therapy I dashed into the spa to get a gift cert for my asst mgr, picked up my shoes from shoe repair. Stopped at liquor store to load up for fake fest. Bought a bunch of scratch tickets for our hot ups guys. Did the baking today with a friend and cocktails! Kids decorated the cookies...not pretty but they had fun. After cocktails and cookies we I boxed and my friend wrapped all of my final Xmas gifts to be wrapped (santa doesn't wrap so that frees up a lot of time and anxiety) Tomorrow I work all day...it's man day...for all those procrastinators. It's fun and I LOVE IT. Really I do, it's my favorite retail day of the entire year. So I'm ready! Bring it!

I'm still working on my wrapping. And some cooking. And some house cleaning. Yep - I feel your pain. And yet here I am . . . blogging.

Well- hubster has decided he wants beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner. Need to battle crowd at Sams tomorrow to buy this thing. Not sure when we will eat on Christmas or how many people will be here as there was a huge dysfunction drama today with my family of origin. My own little family - hub & kids- are incredibly excited about whole holiday! I slammed my index finger in car door yesterday & am having a little diffficulty doing anything that requires said finger . Also went to the most boring party in world tonight for second yr running- think the host really hatesme and his wife invites us for revenge.

I have to wrap stuff, but that's about it ... It's eerie that we're all alone and that it's quiet this year, so things are under control. Funny how when my health prevented our travel back East this year, NONE of our huge, extended family accepted our invitation to come West instead. I think I'm done feeling any obligation to visit with and/or host family for holidays since they can't be bothered to reciprocate in my time of need -- and I have a feeling that this holiday and future ones will be a lot less stressful because of that!
We're looking forward to a very mellow, intensely merry Christmas -- and I hope the same for you and yours, Carmen!

Clean toilets. How exciting is THAT! I wasn't going to clean the bathrooms until my mother was just about here - it would have been a waste any earlier. So Christmas Eve, here comes the toilet brush - woo hoo!

Pre make the breakfast for tomorrow morning, finish wrapping and doing the bows on presents, and best of all... mail a christmas card to my mother who lives in california.. I dont think she is getting it before tomorrow.. ugh!!! And try to have a good time at said party today without thinking of everything, omg everything that we still need to do. Oh and I have 2 loads of wash waiting to go into the dryer as I am "working from home" today... omg.. im going back underneath the covers now.

I still have to wrap all the gifts, clean the house, do the laundry, finish making the goodies that go inside some of the gift baskets (homemade marshmallows, pistachio brittle, spiced nuts, brownies, banana bread -- I did manage to make the blackberry jam early enough for it to set up properly), attend my youngest kids' Christmas pageant at school somehow. Then make the side dishes for Christmas dinner at my brother's house. Then come home, pack the car, pack up the dog, pack the suitcases, pack up the youngest kids, and get ready for a 1,500 mile drive to see my in-laws and my big (step) kids, who usually come to us but aren't this year. And I'm supposed to be at the office today.
I'm not sure how I'm going to get it all done...

You know, as much as I miss not having any family or friends around (thank you moving every 3 years), it kind of starts looking not so bad around holiday time. Far less expectations and things to do when it is just the immediate family. Good luck to all of you who are still in the midst of preparations and I hope you get a chance to sit down and just breathe and enjoy.

Okay, this is all making me feel a little better. I need to go food shopping for the next few days, clean bathrooms, de-clutter, dust, vacuum, and deal with crying kids, and I think my husband won't like the gifts I got him . . .

Remember when I said that I wait until the last minute to shop for Christmas? Well, I got it all done a week ago and feel great! Don't sweat the small stuff, just enjoy the holiday! Merry Christmas everyone!
