A Simple Twist of Faith

A pedicure, a Blue Moon belgian ale and
a good nights' sleep.

My Friday night included a mani/pedi in HOT PINK --always makes me happy, a Diet Coke, and a great chick flick.

Tonight I went for a walk, and LOVED every second of it, even the mosquito swatting.

Peace in my extended family (we have a wedding from hell going on) would be my first choice, but, since that's never going to happen, I'm thinking my three might be some kind of happy pill, some kind of sleeping pill, and some kind of vacation.

Those also aren't realistic. SO, I'll take:
1) curling up next to the hubby to watch something DVR'd
2) a margarita, and
3) whatever happens next. ; )

Jacuzzi bath, a great book, my favorite CD. Hmmmm, think I'll go do that right now. . . .

The past couple of months have been a bit of a nightmare for me as well. So glad they are over! Here's my list, and just thinking about these things make me feel a little calmer.

1. A long weekend at the beach by myself (with no one calling my name or expecting me to be 'in charge' of everything.)

2. A book so good that I can't put it down, and long enough to last that whole weekend.

3. My best friend to be doing the same thing in the beach house next door so we can meet up for dinners & evenings of laughing until our stomachs & cheeks hurt.

About Me

  • WANTED, Carmen, mom to the Masses, for dangerous undertakings inside and outside the home. Last seen with her partner The Hubster, and six accomplices (Nikolas 19, Allegra 17, Mackenzie 14, Gabriel 12, Emma 9 and Riley 8). This fugitive is considered armed (with epi pens and inhalers) and dangerous, especially when she hasn't had her morning coffee. She is particularly difficult to recognize due to an 80 pound weight loss (size 18-20 down to 6-8!), and has been known to hide beneath large piles of laundry. She's a fan of running races, has her Black Belt in Muay Thai and can be found reading, training Crossfit, boxing or running to the store for milk and bread. And coffee. Always the Coffee.
