Ok, help. Help, help, help.
I need to buy a dress for Blogher. I'm searching around, but I have so many parameters and not much time that I'm hoping you all can share your knowledge.
It needs to be:
a) knee length or a bit below
b) tank top or short sleeves - no spaghetti straps because
c) I have to wear a bra, so it can't be too low cut
Can be Empire or fitted in the waist. Would prefer that it not be skimpy in the top, since I have the whole bra issue going on.
I like the looks of both of these, but not the prices:
So, lay it on me. I have both boobs and a butt - my daughter says that I have quite a "donk"- so short, tight stuff isn't going to work, and I'm not a huge fan of the Maxi dress, especially as every one that I've seen has spaghetti straps and there's that stupid bra issue to contend with.
I love vintage stuff, for what it's worth.
But I need something to wear to Blogher, since I'm a finalist and all, so do you have a link that you can share with a girl? Please?

I have the same kind of body as you, and I was considering buying that Boden dress you posted - the blue one on the right. That would look great on you with your coloring.

Garnet Hil has some awesome knit sundresses. I have bought a few there this summer & have been thrilled. They are loose and flowy but not too much. I think they are on sale now too.

If you like vintage, this place has some really cute dresses http://www.unique-vintage.com/summer-fashions-dresses-c-324.html
Also, I recommend Ross locally. I shop at the one on Princess Anne Rd, right across from the Farmers Market, or the one in Greenbrier. They have awesome prices and an amazing selection. They have some really cute/classy designer dresses for not too much money, as well as less expensive dresses.
Good luck!

I've gotten some fantastic stuff at Target this year. Here are a couple that may suit your style. They have lots of others, though, and you can search by sleeve style!

Do you have a Nordstrom Rack near you? They always have Max Studio dresses (ones that retail for $120 and up) for $39.97 -- and they're awesome!

Do you have time to order from Shabby Apple? They have great, cute dresses, and most of them are modest but super cute!
I picked this one: http://www.shabbyapple.com/p-577-el-mar.aspx and this one: http://www.shabbyapple.com/p-615-lopera.aspx for you (both come in other colours).
Also, they have a %20 off sale right now on some of their styles. Hopefully they fit the bill!

I went shopping lastnight locally and ended up finding dressy capris, because I couldn't find a skirt long enough or a dress covering-age enough.

Sometimes I think that our own offenses should seem so much less heinous than the offenses of others. I often feel confused.
