I'm so tired I can't think straight. The first day of school went very well, except for the one part that didn't. BUT. Tomorrow is another day. I can't seem to think straight, and so I am once again falling victim to the dreaded "OMG, she's doing a meme AGAIN" that everyone hates. I promise to get back to some good stuff in the next day or two.
But for tonight, I'm comforted by Riley's words to me as I tucked her in: I'm not going to read tonight, because I want to go straight to sleep so that I can wake up and go to first grade again. It was so much fun! And she wrapped her arms around herself, turned over, and closed her eyes.
That's good enough for me right now.

Glad it was a good day for Riley. I worked for Penney's, too. I think that's what makes me anal about my kids leaving things in the dressing room or unfolding the shirts in stores. LOL

We just watched Princess Bride on Sat with grandgirls (who start 6th & 7th grade next week). They had about 300 movies to pick from & picked Princess bride. It was good. "As you wish..." However, having just seen recent photos of Cary Elwes and Robin Wright this past week... they looked really really really young. She's aged better than he has.

You've never seen Jaws?! It's a classic. You must see it. Especially now that summer is over and your kids won't freak about swimmingint he ocean.
Please immediately get "To Kill a Mockingbird" on your Kindle. I beg of you.
I promise you will love both Jaws and Scout, but for very different reasons. I would not lead you astray.

Okay, but you really should read To Kill a Mockingbird. It is really, really good writing and I re-read it every year.

I own Sixteen Candles AND Steel Magnolias. And I love them both. I have to agree with everyone else To Kill a Mockingbird is a must read.
Hope the second day of school goes well!

Please go and read Jane Eyre (by Charlotte) and Wuthering Heights (by Emily). Two of the best books EVER. Says me.

So happy for Riley (and you) that she loved school. Long may it continue!

Lists are fun. I had never read To Kill a Mockingbird until this year and I am so glad I finally did. Fabulous book. I think I appreciate the story more as an adult than I would have had I read it in school. Give it a try.
