I am participating in a program sponsored by LG and Blogher, in which I have been selected as an “LG TextEd Ambassador”. I'll be posting about this on Scrutiny by The Masses in the next month, and in the meantime, you can check out the the latest topic on “Mobile Meanness”, and follow the other bloggers as we discuss texting and kids and the drama that can, often and does occur.
I do Crossfit three mornings a week. 15-45 minutes.
I train an hour of Muay Thai five days, occasionally six, a week. (Last week it was one.lonely.miserable.alone.day)
I try to walk and/or run 3-4 days a week.
I probably exercise too much. But I really love it. I'd rather exercise than do anything, except maybe eat, cook, sleep or read. My house DEFINITELY reflects it.
My husband calls the gym my home away from home, and if I didn't love to eat so much, and so often - I'd probably be in much better physical condition. But life is life and it's too short to avoid pie and cakes and mixed drinks. :)
How much do you exercise?
What is your preferred exercise? Mine is definitely boxing pad rounds.
No shame, no judgement - if you love Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies - and there is a LOT to be said for that! - share it with us. I am just curious to know - I know that many people wh love to exercise are VERY serious about their choice of exercise. If you don't exercsie, why? Time? Money? Interest?

Right now, I am into running. It is a new passion and I have to run to achieve certain goals. But, I really like Ballates (using large balls in pilates moves). If I have a free hour, I lace up and either go for a run or head to the gym.

Exercise really seems to beget more exercise, doesn't it? I've been increasing my yoga classes from 1-2 a week to 3-4 a week and my walks from 2 a week to 3-4 a week.
I feel like I've finally found the types of exercise I truly enjoy and am willing to continue.

I love to exercise! Free weights with emphasis on upper body is my favorite. Right now I don't get the gym as often as I want. Work too much, and way more to do around the house than I want to do :(

I love to hike. If I had the time I would hike in our local parks every day for 2 hours but I do have a job and family and STUFF so I hike really only one day on the weekends. During the week I alternate running (3 days) and long walks and hilly walks the other 3-4 days. M-F I only give myself one day off from working out and on the weekends I have to do some sort of exercise at least one of the days. I'd like to say I love to run but I'm not quite there yet. I look forward to it, I love how it helps me lose weight and how it feels after but during?? I at times wanna kill myself! But I'm getting there...

I love my walks and might even love them more if I occasionally had a walking partner that could keep up with me. I'm walking around 4+ miles a day 3-5x/week, running part of it when my knee isn't hurting, and doing push-ups, etc.

I love to run. I try to run 3 miles a day but usually miss a day here or there. The tough part is finding something to do in the dead of winter here in MN. I have pre-ordered the EA Sports Active 2 and hope that does the trick.

I don't. I have time, I have the money, but quite frankly, I despise exercising - just sayin'.
Don't mind working in the yard, scrubbing toilets, or cleaning the kitchen...you name it, but mindless exercising is not my cup of tea. ;-)

H.A.T.E. I do not exercise. And hate is why. Oh, and extreme fatigue that gets worse the longer I exercise.
Posted by: heidi | September 23, 2010 at 08:16 PM
I think it's great that exercising is taking up your time. There are way worse things to fill your time with and it's the best way to stay healthy! I run, lift weights, and do any type of cardio equipment. I've completed races from a 5K to a marathon and everything in between many times over. I love it and have done it since I was 12. Just took enough time off to have babies and then back at it. I love it and look forward to my long runs!

I'm a cardio junkie. I run and take spin classes. I occasionally take a body sculpting class and do free weights at home 4 times a week.
Try spinning!!! I highly recommend it.

Like Jenn E, I run and take spin classes (it started as one spin class a week... and then two... and now three...). I try to work in weights and non-bike cross-training, too, but lately that hasn't been happening as much. But - honestly - I love me my cardio. Everything else is just icing.

We just adopted a 4 1/2 month old puppy, so my exercise has just been increased! I'm walking him 4, or more, times a day...and jogging a little, too, just to keep things interesting for him. It feels good to get moving again. Maybe I'll even see the scale numbers inching downward!

Elliptical, spin/RPM, Body Pump (I go to Gold's), stair stepper, bike . . . I love it all. On Sundays my gym is closed so I usually go for an insanely long walk. It really is addicting but I have 5 kids and the time I spend exercising is my time to do something for myself and it gives me a chance to think.

I really like to walk/run. It makes me feel good, it gives me energy, makes me feel fit and it helps my wobbly bits. That being said, I just can't seem to get up off my arse and do it lately. We are going on holidays in less than 4 weeks and the more I think about wearing a swimsuit in front of people the more crap I eat, hows that for fecked-up-ness?

Walking walking walking!! though I do like playing the games on teh Wii fit too!
I lost 10 pounds from late last year to early this year just by walking the new puppy every morning!
Got to get back to it when I am on my evening shift at work!!

Hate hate hate exercising. BUT. In an attempt to get healthier, my husband and I started walking, and we do it the cheatin' way. We do two laps around the outer edge of our local Wal-mart, and get our exercise in the cool (hey, we live in Southeast Texas, so don't judge!). Hopefully once it gets cooler, we will continue walking outside to get a change of scenery.

I try to get out walking for an 1hour a night and get it up to 5 nights a week. Rain, parent meetings and other things can hinder. I hate walking alone because you never know who will follow me home thinking I'm lunch. http://kyootycenter.blogspot.com/2010/06/walking-really-no-i-need-treadmill.html I would so loave to have a treadmill to avoid this guy

I have found a love of swimming, It is so powerful to see me move and my back nor knees hurt afterwards. I bought hand fins, a snorkel and goggles and cap. I try to swim 4- times a week!

One of my life goals is to learn to love being active.
I'm not there yet. :-) But in high school I would collect exercise VHS's from the thrift store. My favorite was Denise Austen's "Kicking With Country". She had her own band covering country songs while she jumped around. No other dancers, just her.

I love to exercise and even on the days when I really just want to stay in bed because I'm exhausted I'll force myself to exercise and feel better for it. Mine are: Monday-Yoga and elliptical, Tuesday-bike and weights, Wednesday-Zumba and swimming, Thursday-bike and weights, Friday-yard work (mowing, weed-eating/edging), Saturday-Swimming, Sunday- either Zumba or a rest day (meaning I catch up on household things that don't get done earlier). I'd probably swim more because I love it, but our Y has funky "free" hours and I homeschool.

i do an indoor boot camp 3 to 4 days per week which is composed of weights, circuits and kick boxing. on my off days, i will do cardio which is either running/walking, riding my bike or spin class.
i just finished a 12 week challenge in which i couldn't have alcohol and very little sugar. it has really changed my way of eating, and for the better. ;-)

I was doing couch to 5K, but injured my ankle. Sooooo, my husband and I started biking, and we love it! We try 3 times a week (with maybe walking for 30-45 minutes too) and have one long ride on Mondays (25 miles so far). Definitely need the bike shorts, but we like the time together and the exercise high we get.

I've never been all that in to fitness, but I just started the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and am on day 15. I've been enjoying it because it is quite a challenge and only takes 20 mins.
Posted by: Lindsey | September 24, 2010 at 04:59 PM
Spinning - love it. I also swim, and though I am not very good at it anymore (despite being on swim teams my entire youth), I really enjoy it - just lap swimming, no water aerobics or other games in the pool.

We go to the gym at least 5 days a week. 2 nights a week are spent with a personal trainer. On those nights we do a 10 minute warm up on the tread mill, a 30 minute workout with him, rotating between different parts of the body and finish with 30 minutes of cardio.
On non-trainer nights we start with abs /crunches and some back stretches. Then we do 15 - 20 mins. on the elpitical and then 30 minutes on the tread mill. Some times running some times just walking.
