I spent the first part of my Labor Day doing laborious type things.
I cleaned out closets. I cleaned out bathrooms. I dusted, I mopped, I scrubbed tubs and toilets and when all was said and done, my son took two boxes and three bags to the garbage can, and my girls filled the middle part of the van with 8 paper bags of clothes/shoes/cake pans/miscellaneous paraphernalia to be dropped at the thrift store. For five hours I worked. We have empty shelves, folded and clean clothes, empty hampers and organized medicine cabinets.
And then we went to the pool for the rest of Labor Day. Where I enjoyed sights like this:
Words of wisdom from Riley: Life lesson #273 - Every day is a good day for dress up. I actually laughed when I heard it, for I thought it was her original thought - but she later told me it came from Olivia.
Still funny to hear from a 6 year old, who does, indeed, believe that to be a life philosophy.
Thanks to a Facebook Friend, I was able to take part in the "Text this phrase to Tropical Smoothie and get any smoothie you want for 99 cents" deal that they were running.
Smoothie, Kindle with the third "Girl" book loaded, and my kids at the pool. A clean house when I returned.
It was a good Labor Day. I feel like I got a handle on some organization that has been elusive. I was mostly offline all weekend.
How about for you?

Uhhhhhh, I'm still on the fantasy island question...LOL
I had all the clothes for this week ironed, hung, organized by Friday night- I was Organization Personified!!!!! but then Saturday morning arrived & I did.nothing.else.
And here it is Monday NIGHT & I have yet to pay bills, most due 6 days ago- and my 8th grader, who had a FOUR day weekend courtesy of Earl, just informed me he needs more flippin binders & dividers for school. You know, in the a.m.
So please don't bother me while I go check out that Marquis hotel room again, thanks!
ps
as I read Rileys life lesson I immediately thought "oh I bet she'd LOVE Olivia!" like my girls & then I read the rest of your sentence. LOL Honestly they are our kids original thoughts, Olivia is just more organized & numbers them all for us!

I too am still thinking about the Marquis Suite, which is bigger & definitely more plush than our first three apts. We did lots of fun stuff on Sat & Sun and so we spent today laboring on the house. We cleaned out the garage. Sent a trunkload to goodwill & truck load to trash. My wonderful friend invited the kids over to play for the afternoon so we got lots done without our little "helpers". I baked cranberry muffins & pumpkin bread for breakfasts, baked a chicken w asparagus & biscuits -which we ate in dining room whoohhoo fancy:)Hubster made chicken saltamboco & put in fridge for tomorrow's dinner. YUM! I feel armed & dangerous for week ahead. However on sour note I told my Mom we r going to PR for thanksgiving & pta pres I can not make a mtg tomorrow- massive doses of guilt resulting from both.C'est la vie.

I tried to get stuff done. I did clean out and organize Kiddo's room a little. I was trying to fix out bed but need a part we can't find. I tried 3x to get a part to fix bathroom sink faucet but ended up just replacing the darn thing. Never did get to the painting I wanted to do, or the laundry, dusting, or cleaning bathrooms. Oh well. Does it count that yesterday Kiddo was sick and barfing all day?

Spent the weekend moving our oldest to his first college apartment (sob). Also had our 23rd anniversery, but was too busy packing to really enjoy it! My hubby & I did manage a nice 14 mile bike ride though. But the house needs some serious attention - it's trashed!

I was lazy this weekend, did a little bit of housework, but mostly played computer games with my husband, or curled up with my own Kindle, loaded with Hunger Games. Loving that book so far. Interestingly enough, I finished the third "Girl" book just before I started this one. Great series.
