1. I have never seen an episode of Dexter, but last night I finished the latest book in that series, and I love them!

2. I would love to own Madonna's early records.

3. I love boy band music, I can't help it, I just do.

4. I hate Glee. Hate it, Hate it, Hate it with a fiery burning passion. (and my hatred has nothing to do with the music)

5. The more society or pop culture screams about how I will LOVE something, the more of a negative bias I start out with. I don't like being told what to like.

6. I won't eat coconut, not because of taste, but because of texture. It's like eating hair

P.S. I love confession time.

elizabethk

I am with you on ALL of these. Except the hives...is it some kind of allergy to a lotion, clothing -- grrr...that would drive me bonkers!

Confessions? -- I would have to think on this awhile... :D

Headless Mom

Ditto 2, 6 and 7.

I hide packages of ramen noodles from my husband. I know those little seasoning packets are death in a pouch, but they're just so. dang. tasty.

Nelson's Mama

1. Never heard of Cosmo Radio.

2. Only caught a glimpse of Dexter.

3. I have never been to an allergist.

4. I'm interested in the elections and waste too much time reading WSJ, New York Times, Huffington, Politico...

5. I'm hooked on the show The First 48.

6. I LOVE Creedence...and cryin' in your beer country music (on occasion)!

Confessions (see what you started!)
1) I am so looking forward to going back to college in January that if they don't have the classes I need, I'm just going to take ANY class that catches my fancy.
2) I love to cook but I hate that no one else will suggest what they'd like to have, but then AFTER I make something they have all kinds of gripes/suggestions!
3) I really loved the holidays in the past. I enjoy making holiday meals and getting presents I think people will like. I love having company then. AND I wish my family would remember that all the fuss is worth it BECAUSE every single time it happens, they enjoy themselves.
4) If my husband died (or we got divorced), I wouldn't live/stay where I am. I'd travel as much as I could (everywhere) and work as little as necessary to support myself.
5)I'm getting selfish as I get older.
6)I like getting flowers.
7)I love to read (almost anything).
8)I wish my family would NOT pile dishes in the sink. That's what the dishwasher is for. AND they're allowed to run it and empty it too!
9) I like to make the bed. It used to be one of the signals that my day was going well. I had time to make the bed. It looked neat, but had room for afternoon naps, book reading, kid cuddling, or dog loving. But since my husband retired, he is in it when I leave for work. :-(
10) I like sunrises and sunsets.
11) I like to paint and draw. And sew. And make baskets. And do stained glass. And listen to music. And go out to dinner. And see a movie at the theatre (matinees are fine.) And go to museums. And hot springs. And tourist traps (that aren't expensive).
11) I'm thinking about eye surgery (not the lasik stuff -- the scary stuff they told me they recommend for me instead of lasik... cornea replacement ... for both eyes.) What if it goes wrong? I'd be blind. Are audio books as enjoyable as print and internet?
12) I'm going to buy a new washer with cash as soon as a) the old one dies or b)I have enough $ saved to pay for a new one that is large enough for king size quilts/blankets. Top load is fine. I am tired of untangling things from underneath the mangler of the old used one we have now.
13) If my husband can have 3 trucks, 1 motorcycle, and a 4 door sedan - I can retire the mini-van with the door that doesn't close. What should the new/used car for me be? 4 doors? Little pickup? 4x4? What should a woman like me drive? I keep seeing red convertible (but that won't work in the winter in my state.)

MamaCas

I listen to Howard Stern on my satellite radio. Every. single. day.

Jenn E

1. I love True Blood but have never seen Mad Men, Dexter or Glee!

2. I want to be Madonna when I grow up.

3. I am addicted to my spin class.

4. I don't like my children after 8:30 pm. Still love them just don't want to be hung on anymore.

5. I recently read an article that said you don't feel like yourself again after having kids until your youngest is 5. This makes me want to run screaming from the building.

6. I love me some Sister Wives.

7. I eat the same thing everyday for breakfast and lunch.

8. I am addicted to Mom to the Screaming Masses. :-)

A Simple Twist of Faith

1. I listen to NPR.

2. I am mourning the end of Mad Men, now I watch NOTHING on TV except fo Super Why and Sid the Science Kid.

3. I love naptime.

4. I hate eating breakfast, but love drinking coffee.

.

Luckyduck

1. There was a lady that attended my church. I didn't like her very much. She never seemed to smile and she always stayed around the other movers and shakers of our town. She wore Coach shoes, the kind that looked like bowling shoes, with little Cs all over. Well, she died last week of a massive brain bleed. Now her two teenage daughters don't have a mother. You know what, the shoes aren't that important, anymore.

2. I don't spend enough time with my dogs. They are so joyful!

3. My best mornings start when I don't have to take a shower as soon as I get out of bed.

4. I don't want to learn a foreign language.

5. After the initial shock, I think I will actually enjoy the "empty nest" time.

6. I'm looking forward to the new Harry Potter movie.

7. My dad has been diagnosed with early Alzheimers. I can already see the some decline, but refuse to embrace the reality of what eventually lies ahead.

8. I'm a snob when it comes to poor spelling, but was too lazy to look up the correct spelling for two other terms in #1, so I used the word "bleed" instead.

9. I love the humor of Dennis Miller.

10. Sometimes, I read your blog when I am at work.

11. I have way too many things to confess. This is definitely the "edited" version.

Tricia

I, too, have never once watched an episode of any of those shows you mentioned. But don't you LOVE SIRIUS/XM? My life changed forever once it was installed in my car. I NEVER listen to music anymore. It's all talk, all the time now! I love Cosmo Radio, Martha Radio, Broadminded on Sirius Stars 102...I could go on and on. Wasn't this supposed to be confessions? Okay, here's one: I try way too hard to make other people happy, regardless of my own personal needs. Since I didn't give you many, might as well have it pack a punch, right?

Brandy

1. I don't watch Dexter, True Blood, Mad Men or Glee. And don't plan to start-ever.
2. My teenager is driving me loony!
3. I am totally selfish when it comes to my workouts and get huffy when I have to miss one.
4. I'm freaking out on how to afford Christmas this year.
5. My husband drives me crazy because gosh I can't be as tired as him at the end of the day because I don't actually have a job. *sigh*
6. I saw someone I went to H.S. with last night at the gym and totally pretended I didn't see them.
7. I'm trying so hard to lose weight but I really, really want some cake.
8. I feel selfish for wishing I could go to the bookstore and spend some money on books for me.

Issa

1. I don't watch or read about vampires in any form. I don't care how interesting anyone feels they are, it just plain doesn't interest me.

2. I don't mind watching sports live or on TV. I actually find it interesting. I know more about hockey, but I understand football and soccer and well on occasion I can understand baseball. I won't ever really follow any of it though.

3. I am currently reading the Percy Jackson books again. Too myself.

Ouida Gabriel

1.I love music almost as much as I love myself so I listen to it everyday. I usually only listen to what is on my Zune though. I am eceltic about music and have everything under the sun (almost). Rarely a day goes by that I don't listen to Van Morrison. Moondance has to be one of my favorite albums of all time. Paul Simon would be second.

2. I love crime shows. I majored in Criminal Psych in college. I have never seen the shows you mentioned though. True Blood seems stupid. I just don't get the fasication with vampires. Ugh.

3. Sorry about your hives/allergies. We have allergies in our home too. They are really hard to deal with some days.

4.I voted already. I worry way too much about the future of this country. I think we are in for a serious shock in the next year or so. I am mad that there are not better candidates as well. And even though I don't like Pres. Obama very much, I don't believe it is all his fault. Greed doesn't know class, race or gender. Almost everyone is guilty in one way or another.

5. Never seen Parenthood and don't plan too.

6. I don't care about the Stones either. I do like CCR though. And Mick Jagger grosses me out.

Ouida Gabriel

Jennifer

1. I spent 45 minutes the other morning on Youtube downloading old videos of Eddie Vedder and lusting over him - that long hair!

2. I love it when my children and husband all leave for school/work in the morning and I AM ALL ALONE IN MY HOUSE.

3. I am really good at cleaning and organizing and pulling my house together in no time flat.

4. I never watch network tv. I am addicted to Real Housewives. I know some of the Jersey ones (my neck of the woods). I feel really sorry for Camille Grammer for some reason.

5. I don't like sharing a bed with anyone, although I love my husband to death. I just would rather sleep by myself.

6. If I had a lot of extra money I would blow it all on traveling with my family.

7. My favorite thing to do with my family is to go on road trips.

8. I buy a few new outfits each season and I wear them to death and then get tired of them and never wear them again.

9. I've always been somewhat religious, but after my father died, I embraced my Catholic faith in a big way. I am almost a daily communicant and none of my friends know that about me.

10. I quit smoking last year after reading "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" and I have never had a desire to smoke again, although I keep having dreams that I am puffing away.

About Me

  • WANTED, Carmen, mom to the Masses, for dangerous undertakings inside and outside the home. Last seen with her partner The Hubster, and six accomplices (Nikolas 19, Allegra 17, Mackenzie 14, Gabriel 12, Emma 9 and Riley 8). This fugitive is considered armed (with epi pens and inhalers) and dangerous, especially when she hasn't had her morning coffee. She is particularly difficult to recognize due to an 80 pound weight loss (size 18-20 down to 6-8!), and has been known to hide beneath large piles of laundry. She's a fan of running races, has her Black Belt in Muay Thai and can be found reading, training Crossfit, boxing or running to the store for milk and bread. And coffee. Always the Coffee.
