Mom to the Screaming Masses: I'm Almost Afraid to Say It

But 41 has started off very well.

Many, many thanks for your amazing birthday wishes. I've got a ton of emails to return, so please bear with me.

Today I received a very interesting email. My wonderful friend Stephanie had given me a hook up with her agent and I had emailed her about a book concept I was mulling over, but have yet to write. She emailed back, expressing a little interest but also much reservation. This is quite a while ago, and I didn't want to shoot back too quickly. After all, I have a third book which is finished, which was really the second I wrote (this is confusing, I know - maybe I should write a Spark Notes for myself? Because now I'm working on a fourth book, which I'm really enjoying...)

I emailed her finally last night, telling her my history, and that I was a bit discouraged as I'd worked so hard on my diet/exercise/weight loss that didn't work out,

AND SHE ASKED FOR PROPOSALS OR SAMPLE CHAPTERS FOR BOTH BOOKS.

To say I was shocked was an understatement.

And I didn't want to say anything about this until it was certain, but my husband got a promotion. I can't be too specific, but his (place of emplyment) bought another (similar place of employment) and they put him as the director of his department. Which is a big department. And an enormous deal for him.

He ws so nervous about it that he didn't sleep all weekend, worried if he made the correct decision, but we talke about it and we prayed about it and we talked some more when he was up at 3 and couldn't sleep.

Then I made him go get on the treadmill so I could go back to sleep, lol.

So today he moved his office from one location to another. He's been in that office as a second in command for 14 years and this is all new and strange. The new location is a huge challenge for him, but he's up for it. (The only trouble with the entire scenario is that his next day off is Thanksgiving - and then Christmas.) But he has people(!) that call him boss (!) and I'm so proud of him and happy for him that all of his hard work has finally paid off.

Well, not paid off yet. But you know what I mean, yes?

AND we did Superman Punches at boxing class today. Second to elbows, my favorite. My teacher termed my punches gansta. (the little things make me happy. That's how old people are, lol.)

My husband's promotion is going through this week also. I know that feeling of being so proud of him and excited and just a little pat on the back to the woman who supports that man, right?
