Jump aboard my Stream of Consciousness about my trip...
Make sure to put on your seatbelt, because it's a SOC for a reason. It meanders, it floats and spins, occasionally a whirlpool appears. At the end, you can't see how one path lead to one pool and another, but you know you made it through. A little tattered, a little damp, but complete.
I had excellent travel karma. Really, the easiest trip I've ever made. My local airport was on time, polite, friendly and clean. Southwest Air was friendly, funny and welcoming. There were only 70 people on the flight to Nashville, so we were encouraged to have our own rows.
There was a woman who insisted on sitting next to me. I was coming down with a thick, snotty, phlegmy cold, and tried to discourage her - but she insisted on sitting in my row. So I sneezed on her.
No. I really didn't. I wanted to, but sometimes when I sneeze, I might pee just a little - and I'm always afraid that my suitcases won't make it on the trip with me. I didn't want to wear damp panties to Blissdom -
So I just changed rows. I sat in row 18 instead of 17, like I wanted. It was good anyway.
One of my oddities is that whenever I travel, the suitcase must be unpacked and put away the night I arrive home. DON'T ask me WHY. It's a quirk and a compulsion and I must do it. the same with taking a shower when I arrive at a hotel and when I get home. Yet I don't travel in a coach through the mud and slime of the ghettos of 1812 - so I do not understand the desire. I just roll with it.
So, yeah, I'm unpacked.
My cold was so horrid on Wednesday that I bought 2 Nyquil capsules in the gift shop, even though my soul cried out to spend more than $3 FOR TWO - but desperate times call for desperate measures. I slept so well that I overslept and missed a fitness event that I was supposed to attend. And I'm pretty sure I snored badly those first two nights because of the cold. And the snot. Don't forget the snot.
I only worked out once the entire week. I ate carbs. LOTS o'carbs. I drank. LOTS o'drank. My pants, they do not like me right now and I know this week coming up is going to be especially brutal.
So I just ate a cookie. A big one. With frosting. My hubby bought it for me from Panera.
Speaking of my honey, he rocked this week. The kitchen was clean. He did the wash. He asked my kids to fold it, and they, uh, brought two unfolded baskets upstairs and put them in the EXACT spot that the DIRTY wash waits. So it looked like I had to do tons of wash when I got home.
Also, they dumped a bunch back in front of the machine.
Smart kids.
I did not watch tv for five days.
And I'm rereading the Outlander series for the tenth (?) time.
I have a tremendous post that's ruminating inside my brain. The gist of it goes along with the amazing talk that Brene Brown gave at the opening of Blissdom, paired with the lyrics of Katy Perry's Firework. Yeah. I know.
ALSO! Up and coming - new bloggers I met this week that rocked my socks off.
Which explains why my feet are cold. :)

Welcome home! Looking forward to hearing more.
I will admit to also being a post-travel shower-taker, and to peeing a little when I sneeze. ;) TMI? LOL

I just got a Kindle for Christmas and promptly bought all of them for it. I'm halfway thru Voyager now and having to fight speaking with a Scottish accent. *sigh* I just LOVE Jamie and Claire.

Glad you had fun.
If you haven't already, you should try listening to the audible versions with Devina Porter doing the voice. She is great. I don't have time to read books with the little munchkins, but I can listen while doing laundry or nursing the baby or dishes or whatnot or walking them to preschool.
She does a lovely job.

I read the Outlander series every year. It started when I was re-reading them when a new book was coming out. Now it's just one of my good habits. (Tho' I do love it when a new book in the series hits the shelves... even the graphic novel was okay because it fed my Diana Gabaldon craving.) She has a book of short stories just out "Songs of Love and Death" (with other writers).

Welcome home. I always enjoy traveling without the kids because I can sit in the exit row on the airplane (if I can get on in time). I also unpack when I get home. It's a sickness I think, but it just makes me nuts. I usually even start a load of laundry just because I can. Hmmm, maybe this is a sign for me to go get Outlander again. I think it is. Hey, we are supposed to get hit with a bunch of snow and ice (Indiana) so what better book to be trapped in the house with.

James Alexander Malcom Mackensie Fraiser can eat crackers in my bed anyday.....all day! Is there anything more sexy than a man passionately in love with his wife?
And Kimberly is right, Davina Porter rocks! Her skill at narration is top drawer! I only wish Audible would get the rest of the series done by her!

Just so glad I am not the only one who feels the urge to upack right away. It just has to be done even the after the trips that include the whole family. As soon as we roll in, it has to be done. At first my husband hated it but now he thinks it is nice just to have it done and out of the way too. I don't like to say I am OCD because really I just like to chalk it up to my super organizational skills (cue laughter).;)

Okay tired. Long day. Not upack "unpack" and scratch the extra "the" in that one line. I was a medical transcriptionist at one point. I really can't stand it when I do stuff like that. See OCD.;)

I understand the need to shower after flying ... something about recycled air makes me feel grimy too.

Welcome home!
Glad to see all the good comments about "Outlander" as I just picked it up from the library on your recommendation! (Although, bizarrely, it is called "Cross Stich" here in the UK !?!)

Hope you're feeling better!
