After you lost all of your weight, how did your sense of style change? What is your sense of style? Do you have a fashion icon, or where do you find inspiration. Where do you shop for clothing for yourself, on line, thrift stores, etc.
I like to say that I have a lack of style. That's not strictly speaking, of course, but I don't really think that I have a sense of style. I don't actually think that I had a sense of style to begin with, so I don't think that losing weight actually changed any of that. I do remember that when Allegra was an infant, I had about five sets of sweats in coordinating colors - tops and bottoms - and turtlenecks that I rotated through.
Yeah. I was THAT mom. You just want to be me.
Right now, I'm on a skirts and dresses/Vintage kick. I love to wear dresses and skirts; I think that they look better on me, and they tend to make me feel more feminine. I have had some really good luck lately with buying clothes at the thrift store - in fact, the dress I wore today came from there - although it is a teeny bit tighter than I like.
Gotta get back into that whole exercise thing again. Today was the first day of school (yippee skippee!) and so I'm really rethinking that whole schedule thing that I spoke about yesterday. There are so many things lined up in a day that if I don't make a firm time to exercise - it just doesn't get done.
For fashion icons, I adore Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe - told you, I'm a 1950's kind of gal. When I was in San Diego, I walked through the Bettie Page store and fell in love with just about everything there - but, hello, sitting around my house and folding wash isn't exactly the place you'd wear something like this, is it?
I'm really interested in what you have to say. Who is your fashion icon? Where do you get your sense of style form? What pieces do you wear over and over, and what outfit just screams "you"?

I'm actually in the midst of changing my style. I'm all about the hippie/Boho/natural look. Earthy colors, layering, pattern-mixing. I want to be a quirky, funky mom.

I'm in the opposite boat from you - I've gained about 50 lbs post marriage and babies. So I've gone IMO from kind of a hip Banana Republic dressed up look to long, loose and flowing. :) Pants, shirts, sweaters ... the idea of matching sweat pants sounds good. :D
But ... from what I understand of your fashion sense, you should look at Talbots and Ann Taylor. Both have very classic clothes and style, with a modern twist. Vintage shopping is always good but its tricky to find the right size.

I also lost a lot of weight.. 170 pounds after I has weight loss surgery. I really didn't have a style other that it was clean, comfortable and matched. Once I was able to shop at "normal" sized stores, i really found that I love wearing dresses too! I love a nice full skirt with a little ruffle on it!!!

I own three dresses and one is my wedding dress. My sense of style comes from my daughter mostly. She cleans me up good.

I have to lose the weight from my first baby still. :( I am currently pregnant with my second and haven't gained nearly as much as I did with my first... but like I said, I still have some of that weight leftover so after this I will have approx. 50lbs to lose before I am comfortable with my weight.
But since I have had my son my weight has seemingly played a huge part in the fact that I dress in the same drab clothing every day- the baggier the better- the more neutral the colour the better.
I hope I can get back to wearing what I WANT to wear and feel comfortable wearing.
