Mom to the Screaming Masses: The Grand Unveiling

At long last, the grand unveiling.

But first, mad, mad, MAD props to the man behind the madness - my hubby. I don't speak about him on this blog all that much - by his request. He isn't comfortable with an online presence and I have to respect that.

But I can brag on him. And so I will. He took a week off from work - the first vacay he's taken all year, even though he gets three - and I don't know if he's taking the other two. He spent the entire week working on this new office.

And doing a very long list of honey do's. What a way to spend your week off.

We transformed a room that began it's life as peach on top and gray on the bottom...

by painting the top of the wall light gray. We did this together. The next day, we painted all the trim and the chair rail white. We bought a ceiling fan and shelving. We stripped a wooden table and primed it and then painted it with two coats of paint.

I ordered pictures for my walls that STILL haven't arrived - thanks, Snapfish, for the non stellar express order! - and bought picture frames. We framed art that the kids have done that I've saved for two years - as long as I've wanted to do this.

In between office projects, he fixed faucets, touched up paint around the house, repainted the front door, repaired a dresser, glued a frame together, fixed a shower, superglued a bajillion small things and repaired about 299 more.

He hung the fan. He bought little baskets for the shelves. He built the shelving. He adjusted the pictures. He bought me a new desk chair because he wanted me to be comfortable and set up my music so that I could have my jams - very, very important to me. He bought a cheapo clock so that he could steal the motor and repair my favorite "Scared Guy" clock.

I have felt guilty the entire week.

It was a ton of work. A TON. He stayed up late, He got up early, He did WAY more than I would have done. Literally, this office has swept away my wildest dreams - and I don't feel as if I deserve it, although it SO has increased my productivity and my organization. It was almost all of his bonus and I feel guilty - but who couldn't LOVE an all-their-own space that looks like this:

I have a truly magnificent husband who rocks my socks off on a daily basis.

And a new office!!!
