Yes. There is a sponsored post down below this one. You can win a $50 Visa Gift card - good for back to school shopping, or drinks out with your girlfriends, or new shoes, or a pedicure.
Or, you know, paying your water bill. If you wanna be grown up about this stuff.
There's a couple more of those sponsored type posts coming over the next month. These are the types of posts that allow me to stay home with my children and update this blog as often as I do - and I work hard to make them interesting and enjoyable - as well as rewarding.
The post was super fun to do because my 14 year old daughter interviewed me - she was allowed to ask me any questions that pertained to summer beauty - and we did it while her brother was at trumpet lessons, so it was a silent interview. She typed a sentence, turned the computer to me, and I typed my answers. It was funny to remember using Sun In when I was in middle school.
Not that any of you EVER did that, I'm certain.
Anyway, go to the post below this one and enter to win yourself a $50 gift card. Someone's gotta win, why not you?
What I want to know is, why is it the people who love you the most know exactly how to hurt - and do it with unerring and unsparing accuracy? And when that hurt comes, it really does smart. An awful lot. And then you spend a couple of days feeling exactly like the mold that grows in the bottom of your refillable water bottle.
So, Internets, help a girl out - tell me what's good and right in your world today.

I recall Sun-in, but I was forbidden to purchase it I used peroxide to color 'blonde' streaks in the hair that framed my face. Of course, it turned orange. And those who 'forbade' the purchase never commented on the failed coloring attempt.
LOL!

The good...just having some lazy summer days with my kids. But yesterday was not so great in that I was just a little humiliated. It was uniform sale day for back to school and so we went. I was short on cash and needed to hang onto as much as possible before the next pay day. The company would not accept my husbands check, of course. And they did not accept AMEX. Crap! I don't know why but it bothered me and I had to tell myself to put my big girl panties on and walk away gracefully. Oh well! I did score a nice bag of used uniforms, though.

Headless Dad did the dishes this morning and emptied the dishwasher. Something he hasn't done in a very long time and it made me smile!

It's Friday Eve, I think that's good enough! :)

Mir at Woulda Coulda Shoulda mentioned that the girls at her local hospital didn't have any nice toiletries.
And now she has a living room full of tampons and body wash.

Dianna is right, it's Friday Eve! Awesome!
I never used Sun-In because my hair was so dark brown. Now it has grey.

bet I used more Sun-In than you...surely you remember the lifeguard days...blond hair went with the tan!
good things: cocktails in hand, sand under your feet, salt water on your toes, salt on your margarita, not having to suffer in a cube for a living, the comfort of your friends and readers...
As to your question, we let people rent space in our heads. Feel free to evict them.
Parting shots (two of my favorite Eleanor Roosevelt quotes):
"A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water."
"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Frankly, the only great thing right now is that tomorrow is payday for me and Wednesday for my husband.

I've made some friends in my boxing and kickboxing classes. We all go out to lunch once a month and today was the day. I only knew one other person there but we had SUCH a good time, sharing stories of crazy family members. So remember, every family has those members who know how to push your buttons and/or hurt you. Let yourself wallow for a little while, then try to dust yourself off and move on. You can do it!!

Hmmm, good things? I gathered my courage and applied at the Y for a part time job on the weekends. I doubt I'll get it, but it felt good to DO it. Zumba Sentao tonight was fun....., Hubs made dinner....., listening to my favorite kitty purr. That's about it here.
