You exhausted me.
And that's so not fair, being as you are so close to Friday and all.
Way to psyche a girl out.
EVERYONE woke up grumpy. NO ONE could speak politely to anyone - except me - but after a while, that fly off the handle with zero provocation was looking really, really nice. And Ye Olde I Don't Need NO Stinkin' FILTER settled in for a good, long spell.
Everywhere I went, there was difficulty. I went to do volunteer work - even taking my four youngest so they could help - and got a verbal slap down that left me angry and irritated - the exact OPPOSITE of the way volunteer work should make you feel. I went to the speciality bra shop to pick up a bra that I'd tried on last week - to find that they sold it to someone else and it'll be another month to get one in.
A month. For real?
We decided to try to knock out the rest of the summer work packets - seriously, what fresh hell are these things, with their 20ish pages and their cry baby making abilities and their lack of desire to remain WHERE they belong and, instead, take themselves off to another area of the house for a visit with the Barbie box, forcing me to spend a solid HOUR hunting for them, while they chuckle to themselves, those packets of Math and Language Arts Doom?
And people fought and people cried. People picked on each other and people nagged and I tried, so hard, to be patient - but about, oh, 8 hours in, I lost it.
We went and did a three hour 2 store school supply shopping run. No one enjoyed this time, and I was asked why teachers don't request things like iPods and cookies.
Darn those teachers, those fun sucking parasites.
And then I went for the mail. Where I saw that a long time intrepid reader, Elizabeth, had sent me a present. And - not just any present.
A SNOWFLAKE NECKLACE.
And I made one of my favorite dinners - Mongolian Beef.
And I taught my kid to dispense her own medicine. I'm all about self sufficiency over here.
And. There's this.
I appeared on the Cover of the Verizon FiOS Facebook page -look it up, it's even more cool to see in real time - in conjunction with my post of how much I love FiOS. This was one of the easiest paid posts I ever wrote in my life. I love it so much.
Oh, and I made cookies. With rum soaked raisins, cranberries and walnuts. Look, they're healthy, y'all!
I kill myself sometimes.
So Thursday, you've redeemed yourself, just a smidge.
Have you entered to win a Harley Jacket? Or a $500 Spa card, or a Visa Gift card?

Glad to know Thursday redeemed itself. The mongolian beef looks yummy! Maybe share the recipe sometime, or did you already and I missed it?
Hope your Friday is loads better!

Have totally had days like that. Nothing like 6 kids (mine or yours!) to bring a body down sometimes! :)
But wow! You made it up! And how about that recipe for mongolian beef? You can't just leave us with a picture like that and not give the recipe!!

OMG, I miss Verizon FiOS so much! We had it when we lived in Maryland and it's not offered out here. I'm stuck with crappy cable. *boo, hiss*
The Mongolian Beef looks so yummy! I'd love the recipe too!
