I have a bunch of presets in my Jeep on the radio.
Current music. 80's. Classic Vinyl. Classic Rewind. Easy Rock. First Wave. Country. Broadway. Classical. Comedy. Martha Stewart.
Oh, and NFL. Gotta love the NFL.
I'm frequently spasmodic with the music. I scroll around and around, up and down, until I find something that suits me. Then my ADD kicks in, and I'm changing again. Today I spent an awful lot of time in the Classical Opera area and the Broadway. One tune in particular really caught my eye. From a show called,
{title of show}
(yes, that really is the title of the show!)
the song is called Nine People's Favorite thing. One section of the lyrics goes like this:
Than a hundred people’s ninth favorite thing
Nine peoples favorite thing
Than a hundred people’s ninth favorite thing
It's a song about viral marketing. It's GENIUS.
Even though there is the dichotomy of wanting to be more, More, MORE - and stretching and growing is so good for one's soul - there's a limit to who you are and just exactly how Gumby like you can be. To try to fit it all in, to be the "yes" person rather than the spoilsport, to be the one that everyone can count on, the "go to" guy -
can be draining.
So don't get that way. (I'm writing to you, but I'm writing to ME as well. I'm putting it out here so that I can come back to this and reflect on it and say, oh, yeah, right there - that's what I wanted to remember.

I have no idea, but if I ever figure it out I'm going to sell the secret for a ton of money.

You walk in the door you see and instantly there are critters and humans demanding your attention. Then you remember - ya this is the part that matters.

I am so tightly wound that keeping myself in check is a matter of what makes me feel most guilty for not taking care of immediately. Yeah. I need to relax a little. *sigh*
