Like almost anything good that I've done in my life lately, this idea was found on the Internet. And like almost everything good that I'm done recently, all of my friends are doing the same thing.
What can I say? In the words of my dad - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
So one of the things that I would like to work on in my family is an attitude of positivity. All of us, myself most of all, tend to look at the glass not only half-full, but half-full of acid. Well, not the husband, but other than him – just about all of the rest of us.
In many places, I seen this idea done with a mason jar. Often, the mason jars decorated, with ribbons and bows – it looks very festive. I'm not a festive, bow draped mason jar kind of girl – what I am is a coffee girl.
At heart, in my life, it all boils down to coffee. And this extra-large coffee mug, given to me by a great friend, really symbolizes my life.
When something good happens, write it down and pop it in the cup. Hopefully, I won't be the only one with papers on Dec 31, 2013.
(please to ignore my messy handwriting)

Girlfriend that is a GIANT MUG...
YOU CAN FILL IT!
LOVE this idea...
now I need to figure out what to put my blessings in...

Really liking this idea, since I am also one who tends to look at things from a perspective of worry rather than opportunity. My husband has been telling me lately to "look for the rainbows", which is totally unlike him, but apparently I have been super negative and haven't realized it. Let us know after a few months if your family is still contributing!

Ummm sooo - does the mug work for coffee? Cuz I would totally donate a nice pretty bowl of some usefulness if you would be willing to allow me to use the cup for its intended purpose? That would be a NICE cup of coffee just sayin'

I've seen this around. I think it's a good idea. I, too, tend to focus on the negative and spend untold amount of time worrying about everything. Good luck!
