So, here is a current picture of my garden.
Well, not totally current, because I'm in Chicago and my husband just staked the tomatoes. But here it is, in all it's glory.
The tomatoes have gone nutso. I have made sauce from fresh tomatoes- I loved it, but my husband wasn't a fan. I'm ready to can a bunch - first time for everything, eh?
I've made eggplant parmigiana from the garden, zucchini bread, and sautéed eggplant, tomatoes and zucchini for a couple of dinners. Unfortunately, the zucchini died and so I only harvested five.
The basil is growing like nuts. I'm impressed with myself, although I probably shouldn't be – growing stuff is not a skill that anyone else couldn't master.
I'm still excited.
