It's my most favorite post of the year, one that takes me forever and ever to write and I get wrapped up in reflecting exactly how I screwed up spent the past year. I end up reading an entire year's worth of posts and realize that I'm incredibly verbose and never say anything worthwhile.
Without further ado, I present, 2014, a year in (somewhat self centered) review!
In January, I whittled myself down to bullet points because I was meeting someone new - and, um, I don't remember who I was meeting. Isn't that nuts? We got a lot of snow. I flew to NYC - my favorite and my best.
In June I shared a bit of a manuscript that I've been working on. My husband and I put a lock on the Lock Bridge. Part 2 of the manuscript is up, as well as part 3. Also in June it was Part 4 and part 5. We took a trip to Florida. I wrote a book review post.
In August, we took a short road trip for a hamburger. I set up #StarbucksforJo. Which ended really, really well. My son ended up in the emergency room with an allergic reaction to tylenol. I realized why I'm crazy. I made a video of the creation of tomato jam.
In September, I joined my trivia group - and promptly fell in love with Tuesday nights. We test drove the Chevy Traverse for a week. I wrote that travel is fascinating. Because, where else can you see a group of men peeing? I went on a trip to Pork Farms.
In October I took a butchery class and made cassoulet for the first time. I took another trip to NYC. We had a bad day. I made really yummy cupcakes and delicious bread. Fantastically, amazing Rainbow pictures live here. I wrote about what it's like to raise a kid who happens to be a high functioning autistic. I made Pumpkin donuts.
November meant I was finally crowned as the royalty I've always thought I was, when I got my very first root canal and crown. I wrote about the baggage we all carry. I wrote about the morning routine. Chaos, really.
What a year it was. I won't lie and say that it was my favorite year ever, and I won't lie and say that it was my worst year ever. There was definitely room for improvement, and I'm hopeful that 2015 is a banner year for fun, goodness, music, yummy foods, fun times with fantastic people, and great things to share on this here blog.
Thank you for reading and for being your own fantastic self!
