It seems like I'm found over here less and less, and that's not my intent.
Here's what I've been up to:
Watching the entirety of House of Cards - OMG, was that good. Did you watch? Are you a fan?
My son had a performance, and it was super stressful to get everything together and everyone covered and get to the locale - which was outdoors and then canceled due to weather. But we went anyway, and during the ceremony, I had to walk away to take a work call - and also, my ADD kicked in, how MANY speeches can one listen to? - and I found this gorgeous, peaceful place, and I just - sat.
We were all together for Easter. All of it. It rarely happens, and so we took a quick phone shot before everyone scattered to the 7 corners of the earth.
And somewhere in there, we had All City Band. This kid, she's going places. (Mostly because I'm driving her, but hey….)
And we went to 5867379684 stores to look for appropriate Easter shoes. (I wish that number was an exaggeration. I think we went to every store in our city as well as two others that sells shoes.)
My daughters took selfies on Easter and blew up my phone. It was worth it.
In other news, I'm looking forward to warm weather, mostly so I can wear skirts. But I'm realizing that I need a few more, and I'm stumped where I can find them. I've done so much online looking that my Facebook ads are all skirts, all the time - but the sites are for tiny, lithe, sprite beings and I cannot fit one leg in them. Help a girl out - where have you see cute, patterned A line or pencil skirts?
I made lots and lots of yummy foods - chocolate crack (you know the stuff, caramel melted onto crackers and then topped with chocolate and salt and almond slices), chocolate ice cream (with almonds, chocolate chips and toasted coconut for the husband, his very favorite) savory Oats ( steel cut oats with olive oil, fresh grated parmesan, fresh cracked pepper, sea salt and avocado for breakfast - I was impressed with how super yummy it was - AND it kept me full forever), browned butter banana bread, lots and lots of meringues (coffee, lemon, vanilla), snicker doodles - and I think the next thing I'm going to make are molasses ginger cookies.
I can't wait to put my garden in. Really. Seriously.
After staying home with me and the kids one day (!!!), my husband agreed that I needed doors on my office (I think is exact words were "I have no idea how you've done this as long as you have!" and he spent two full days + purchasing, hanging, removing, planing, painting, routering, and repeat - for these.
And, finally, I got my hairs did a while ago and just never showed.
