Well. I didn't quite mean to be gone that long.
I left on Tuesday of last week at 7 a.m. for a flight to Detroit. I was a guest of the Ford Motor Company, and I had a fantastic, fun filled three days that I so desperately needed.
My life is nothing if not a roller coaster. Get this - I was sent away alone, forced to drink their beverages of unlimited quantity, hang out with fantastic friends, make some amazing new ones, and allowed to drive their amazing automobiles.
I love my job.
The first night we were there, I kicked field goals on the home field for the Detroit Lions. I spent one day in the classroom setting, which was nice. Info on both of those can be found here. You should go read. It's a really awesome post.
The next day, they trusted me - me, ol' Leadfoot Lucy - to drive their cars. The results were SPECTACULAR. I do not recommend you read this post. I ENCOURAGE you and actually DEMAND you to read it - it's really that good. And, also, funny.
I'm also kind of in a little contest to see who can get more pageviews on their youtube channel.
The next three days my dad, step mom and half sister were here. It was so, so much fun. A close family friend - we just call him Uncle, it's easier - came over one evening - I'd planned to write but visiting took precedence.
The day after they got here, family from my husband's side came for my father in law's 91st birthday party. Which was yesterday.
And, today, when I woke up and checked my online work due dates, I realized that what I had *thought* was 3 due was, in actuality, 9. So, other than a dental appt for one of my kids, I didn't get up from this chair.
Except to pee. And now I'm going to Zumba. And then I'm typing some more before bed.
Didja miss me?
PLEASE go read those posts. I'm super proud of my mad driving skillz, yo.
