When the lovely ladies at The Parent Bloggers asked if I'd be interested in receiving socks and unders for my kids, I could not get to my keyboard fast enough. "YES!" I frantically typed. "I've got back to school shopping for six kids, PLEASE help me with at least one aspect of it." I really didn't care what brand it was, to be quite honest - if I could get free socks and unders, that was good enough for me.
But when I discovered that the company in question was Hanes, I was even more excited. I wear Hanes my own self, and I love three things about them - the Comfort Fit promise, the no wedgie action, and the overall awesome fit. In fact, Hanes is so certain that you will love these unders that they guarantee your money back if you aren't satisfied. With a special no roll edging, I can truly say that I have never worn more comfortable unders in my life. I even wear them to martial arts, an activity that forbids wedgies. So I was sure that my kids would feel the same.
And they did. (Note: I did not ask for unders for my oldest - no way in the world was he going to do an UNDERWEAR trial.) We received No Ride Up Briefs, No Ride Up Panties, and No Fly Boxers. My younger kids loved the underwear, with my younger son calling them the "most comfortable boxers he'd ever worn". The one thing I dread with boys and boxers is the dreaded "fly gap", and somehow, Hanes has gotten it right - there is never any gap with these boxers. Particularly helpful in a family of both boys and girls. (We've had to do some, ah, education a time or two.) The colors and patterns are crisp and bright, and despite multiple washings, they haven't faded. None of the underwear has stretched out or sagged, and the cotton remained soft and comfortable. Probably the greatest blessing to our family was the tagless design. With a kid on the spectrum, tags can be our greatest enemy, and I can't tell you the number of underwear I've ruined by digging out that dumb tag. These unders have become the "go to" products in the drawers, which makes them one of the ONLY clothing item that my kids don't argue with me over.
I have bought Hanes Shaped to Fit ankle and crew socks many times. I was already a strong supporter of them, due to the color coding that the socks have on the bottoms. Do you KNOW how many unmatched socks we have in this house? When I finally sit down to match them, the vast majority of the unmatched actually DO have matches - I just have to look. With the color coded socks, it's easier to determine whose socks are whose, and I can just toss the purple bottom socks into Emma's pile and she can match them herself. It takes one task away from me. I'm all about that. These socks never stretch out, never slid under their heels, and they are some of the only socks that I've been able to pass down to another child. In my book, durability is key - I'd rather pay more for one pair that two kids can wear. Luckily, along with the durability comes cost consciousness, and the Shaped to Fit socks are a great bargain.
Hanes products have always been high on my purchase list. They hit a home run each and every time. These products are no exception.
Keep an eye on The Parent Bloggers site - on Friday, August 22, Hanes is participating in a blog Blast and will be giving free unders and socks to one lucky winner!
