Time's up - and the winner is comment #75! Katherine, you have 48 hours to contact me with your address.
It's no secret that I transformed my diet a few years ago. I took out the fast food, the junk food, the white flours and I developed an exercise habit. I lost 80 pounds. (I've since gained back about 10 of those pounds, but beggers can't be choosers and I'm trying to get that weight back off.) The changes that I made to my diet were not enormous, mind blowing things, however - they were incremental, tiny steps that all together helped me to live a more healthy lifestyle. That's the most effective way to create a sustainable lifestyle change, I think - small manageable steps.
Pizza is usually one of the foods that a dieting person, sadly, feels that they must remove from the diet. After all, it's gooey, cheesy deliciousness, combined with the saltiness of the mozzarella and the tang of tomato - my stomach is rumbling just thinking about it. It fills you up in a wonderful way - but it can also pack on the pounds. In the past, I've just avoided pizza - but, I think, with the new DiGiorno 200 calorie pizza selections - it's back in my diet. And that makes me so very happy. Created with Italian inspired ingredients on thin crispy crust, these single serve meal options are a great lunch or dinner, and have the added bonus of being the perfect portion size - probably one of my biggest roadblocks when it comes to eating pizza. (I may or may not have been known to sneak downstairs and eat just one more piece from the delivery box late at night. I'm not telling.)
I was delighted to receive three different selections of the new Digiorno 200 Official siteCalorie pizzas - Pepperoni, Chicken with Peppers and Onions and Cheese and Tomato. I sampled the Cheese and Tomato for dinner, and it was delicious, although much more crispy than I had anticipated. The crust cracked when I bit into it, and left my lap covered in crumbs - lesson to self, eat over a plate - duh. I scarfed down one of the two individually wrapped, three ounce servings. I wondered if by microwaving the pizza I'd caused it to be more crispy than it was supposed to be, and so I baked the second slice in my toaster oven.
Nope. Still crunchy. But yummy. As was the Chicken with Peppers and Onions, although I thought that the chicken was a little sparse - both portions that I had contained four small pieces of chicken. I did not try the pepperoni, but my 17 year old son did, and he loved it. In fact, the entire line up of DiGiorno 200 calorie pizzas has been added to the permanent shopping list - only problem being, they aren't sold in my area yet.
But never fear. I am on the hunt.

My very favorite pizza is chicken and mushroom with white garlic sauce and parmesan and garlic on the crust. No surprise that I don't eat it often, right? Thanks for the chance to win, Carmen!

I like chicken ranch pizza alot since my hubby brought one home a while back. Ultimately though, to really make me happy it has to be a pie from Sal's Pizza on the corner of my hometown. No one has ever made em' like Sal's!

What I like is a veggie pizza with extra cheese, but since my DH and I eat Vegan, I get boring pizza now and live vicariously thru our kids selections.

Well, being a true-blue Memphis girl, I've gotta say my favorite pizza is good ol' pulled pork bar-b-que pizza. Yum!!
However, that is a stroke AND a heart attack on a thin crust, so I try to stay away from it!

Pretty much all pizza is good, but we have a local place that uses sliced meatballs, which is a delicious alternative to sausage. I just never want to eat canned mushrooms on a pizza- blech!
