I try to work out every day. Try to being the operative word, but I try to get the sweat pouring every day in some way. Most often, it involves noon time boxing class. And, man, does the sweat pour there.
7 years ago, I began a weight loss effort. It took me more than 18 months, but at the end, I was able to say that I lost 80 pounds. Over the past five years, I've kept off most of this weight. I walk, run, take boxing class, go to Core class, or fire up the Wii. It's imperative to me that I stay active, for it improves my mood every bit as much as my figure.I don't want to smell like a man while doing my exercise, though - the reality that I'm often one of the only women in a large boxing class is smelly enough, thank you very much. Every time I go to the store, I grab a new brand or scent of antiperspirant/deodorant so as to test the efficacy. Sometimes I even pick a man's brand, hoping that it'll quell the sweat. No dice.
I'm an inherently lazy person, and so every day it's a challenge to get myself active. Even though I know the benefits, even though I know that I'll feel better when I'm done - there have been days I've chosen to just take a nap instead. Not that there's anything wrong with that - a good nap can help you have the energy to exercise.
Degree has created a new form of anti-perspirant, the first in it's class, activated by movement, not moisture. Degree with motionSense is a one of a kind product that capitalizes on the reality that women are moving all the time - in many ways, both big and small. Building on this concept of "the more you move, the more it works" Degree has created the Degree MotionSense “Get Into the Move"Challenge. This application was launched on Facebook and it rewards users with a chance to win thousands of cool prizes, simply for doing things that they already do as active women.
From the press release:
By registering for the Degree Women “Get into the Move” application on Facebook or on mobile devices (m.degreewomen.com), fans can start earning motionMILES, virtual currency redeemable towards chances to win thousands of prizes. These motionMILES are earned for various ways women move, including checking in with Facebook places and logging activities. Earning motionMILES is easy - eligible activities include going to the gym, taking Zumba® or yoga classes and various other activities women already do, like grocery shopping or catching the bus. Fans can also earn motionMILES by answering daily trivia questions on the Facebook application, inviting friends to “Get into the Move,” and even logging in daily.
Once you sign up, you earn points that you can then redeem for things like designer shoes, Zumba classes, and even a trip to Hawaii, surfing lessons and all.
In my next post, I'll be chronicling my progress in the challenge and using this space to keep me moving. And maybe not smelling quite so, uh, manly at the same time. I'd also encourage you to participate in the Degree motionSense “Get Into The Move” challenge.

I love to keep active with my husband since we have five kids so as you know time together is precious. He just started going to a Zumba class with me. I look like an idiot but it's fun! New gear would be so nice since money is tight. Great giveaway!

My favorite way to stay healthy is simple and boring, but it works: Walking. I put the baby in a sling or stroller and the preschooler in a stroller and walk every day. It got the baby weight off.

I walk at lunchtime when I am at work. But the weather here has been lousy all spring. Hard to go for a walk in the pouring down rain and return to work. Hoping that the summer weather is better.

I love kickboxing!! But since my last baby was born just 8 weeks ago, I'm still "just walking" for now. It does my spirit good to get outside every day.

I bought a bike that I'm riding to the grocery store and the pool. I even have a trailer that I pulling carrying my 3 year old (that makes it really easy to bring the groceries home too). It also has the added advantage of saving me gas money!

Gym 5 days a week would like to add a nice walk around the lake but the weather has been horrible. And a new effective deodorant would be good too. I have been using a man's for the past few years. Only thing that works.

I love the Wii! I am inherently lazy too and it's the ONLY thing I've been able to keep going back to.

I try to ride my bike wherever I can. I attached a basket it to it so that I can use it to bring home some groceries. It gets me a good workout while still being productive at the same time.
