Print magazines, that is. Here's some common sense, no nonsense tips that most of us know, but some of us (ahem, I'm looking myself DEAD in the mirror when I say this!) might need to be reminded of.
- Stop drinking soda, Regular OR diet. I've been really good with this - three years ago, I drank more than a 2 liter a day of soda, gradually moved to less of this, moved to diet, and now, I'm proud to say, I rarely drink any of it.
- Serve more vegetables during lunch and dinner. Maybe start the meal with a salad.
- Eat more fiber. (If I eat a salad every day, this is pretty easy, otherwise, an area that I struggle with.)
- Don't be a human garbage disposal - leave a little bit on your plate - you don't need to finish every.single.bite. Especially cleaning off your KID'S plates.
- Don't drink too much alcohol - oh, how I can struggle with this one. One thing I've done is try to limit myself to once a week, if I go out with my husband for a special dinner. I've got to consciously keep from rewarding myself with a nightly drink, just for getting through the day. Ahem.
- Look in the mirror nude every day. I never did this when I was heavy - I walked past the mirror with eyes averted every time I got in the shower. Now, I'm not staring into my own eyes - or other anatomical parts/places - but at least I don't flinch.
- Eat protein foods for breakfast. YES. This makes SUCH a difference in how I feel during the morning. Even if I'm not hungry, I try to at least down some smoothie with protein powder. My moods are more stable and I can often avoid a headache.

Hubby is just learning the soda thing. I keep it around for a treat but it's just that: a treat.
The alcohol thing? I'm not so good at. I love my (almost) nightly glass of wine, so I save some calories for just that. Cut the extra cup of coffee, a little less at meals, no snacks, etc.

Excellent list! I never thought I'd be able to give up soda but like you I only drink it rarely now. It all matters. It all adds up and I was amazed at how good I felt just from making the changes listed.
I don't look at myself in the mirror every day but its something that is important for all of us to do and not just for motivation or body acceptance but to check for any changes in your skin or look for moles that might have grown or look different so that skin cancer can be caught early and treated.

I hate to admit that giving up soda (or pop if you're from the Midwest like me, lol) makes a huge difference. For years I was like "one 200 calorie drink a day can't make that BIG of a difference." I gave up Mt. Dew at the beginning of the year due to kidney stones and I've lost 15 pounds without exercising AT ALL. Granted I do need to exercise but dropping the weight by giving up pop has been nice.
