Ok, well, huh. It's been 14 days since I last posted here. Sorry about that. Life, in the form of injuries, has a funny way of happening.
I'm pretty sure that a) not many people read here and b) those that do also read my main blog. But just in case you missed it, I hosed my leg. Tore the gastrocnemius muscle with some accompanying tendon mess and frou-frou. So my beloved martial arts classes are gone for at least another month. Walking? Gone. Runnng? No way, no how. The only exercise that I'm allowed to do right now is swimming, and um, hello, it's 19 degrees tonight. And I don't have money to join the Y.
I'm also sad because I wanted to join the 30 day Shred group. You all know how much I adore Jillian Michaels.
So, now the only thing I can do is upper body work, and I really need to do that. I'm going to Mexico next month. With no cardio, and no martial arts, and DEFINITELY no Crossfit, how will I be able to get into that bathing suit? The lack of exercise has been bad for my attitude - must change that.
So, daily upper body work for me. Anything else you can think of, add it here.

Don't forget those situps!

My Y always offers a free-trial (no obligation) week. You could see if yours does, too. You'd at least get a week of swimming, which would help boost your mood.

Yoga, yoga, yoga. I'm searching for a class right now 'cause I need it desperately. They can be adapted for injury, especially if you have a teacher who knows that. Hang in there, hon!

You gaffed your leg. I have no excuse. The sit-up challenge just didn't come to fruition for me. But... I am thrilled that I got my lazy butt out of bed last Saturday morning and went to a exercise "boot camp" with some friends and LOVED it!
... and in regards to the one post on the other site, I hope you're feeling better.

Well, I was wondering where you were. I'm not one to comment much but you're on my regular daily read. So glad I checked in because now I know about your other fabulous blog! It's now added to my daily read as well. Sorry about your injury, that stinks. My only advice is, if your bathing suit doesn't fit the way you want it to when you go to Mexico (but I bet it will), buy one that does. You'll feel so much better and don't let no stinkin' gastrocnemius muscle ruin your trip!

It's great to be able to read your blog and seeing that your lack of excercise affects your mood. I mean, I feel better knowing it's normal for me to feel discouraged and then notice my attitude is negative.
Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope that heals quickly so you can get back into what you enjoy and the bathing suit :)

Hey, buddy! You might try asking at your physician's office for a referral to a swim place as part of rehab. Perhaps insurance may cover all or part of it?
