I love to cook and thank goodness - because there are a lot of people here that love to eat. As often as I can, I try to cook from scratch, but thanks to our insane schedules that's not always possible. Sometimes I'm caught unaware at 5 p.m., when some starts the ever popular refrain, "What's for dinner? Dinner? Dinner? What's for dinner?" When I was asked to review the new La Choy Creation dinners, I thought it might be a new meal that I could add to our rotation
Happily, I was correct!
The box contained all of the ingredients for a teriyaki meal - all I needed to do was add either chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu. I cut up three chicken breasts, sauteed them in a little oil, added the rest of the ingredients, and fifteen minutes later - there was a delicious dinner, ready to go, in the skillet. My husband, one daughter and I loved it. (the box said it would serve four, but we got three good size servings out of it. I think if I had given it to my oldest son, it would just feed him.)
It was delicious, filling, and most importantly, not too salty - many, many box Chinese meals are very salty. I enjoyed this meal and will gladly buy this - it'd be a great quick dinner on a night full of obligations!
