“I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Bausch + Lomb and received the product necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
I have needed glasses since I was 8 years old. I've worn contacts since I was 16, although I wasn't very careful with them and ended up having to toss a whole bunch of them. Most of my kids have needed glasses for either distance or up close, and my 13 year old daughter Mackenzie was no exception.
She had a complication, though, in that she's my most athletic child. She's been a soccer player since she was 3 and took up cross country to help with her endurance. She discovered that she enjoyed running even more when there was no ball involved, and so she dropped the soccer and amped up the running.
She never complained, ever, that the glasses were hindering her sports participation, but I'm a runner and I know that glasses are a total pain. They slip, they fog and they fall off. When I was offered to join this campaign, she was my immediate choice. We had her eyes examined and she was fitted for her lenses. I was concerned about her ability to insert the lenses and how long it would take her to become acclimated, as my older son had a very difficult time with both aspects. I don't know if it was the type of lenses that she has - The Bausch + Lomb SofLens - or if was her, but after about a week, she was wearing them like a pro.
She has continued with them for the past month and has had absolutely no trouble. She loves wearing contact lenses. I don't even think that I can explain how much she loves contact lenses.i like the Bausch+ Lomb lenses because they are daily use - so I know that she's always inserting a fresh lens. I don't have to make sure that they are clean and she doens't have to remember to clean them. She loves not having to wear her glasses when she runs and says that she feels more grown up wearing them.
I'm not sure that I'm ready for the "more grown up" aspect.
My 13y.o. amazed me with how well he took to contacts. Thank GOODNESS because I know the glasses never came out of the case at school!
Are daily wear insanely more expensive than the two week wear my son uses?

Hi KG,
SofLens daily disposables are definitely affordable in comparison to two-week lenses, see our chart here: http://www.soflens.com/value.html
Bausch + Lomb also has a free trial certificate available on our website, so your son can experience the vision and convenience of SofLens daily disposables: http://www.soflens.com/free-trial.html
Thanks,
